We are looking for a Lead UI Developer to join our passionate E-commerce development team! The primary functions of the Lead UI Developer are to lead a team of 2 to 3 UI developers to design and develop new front end features for our multi-channel e-commerce solution using HTML5,CSS3, Javascript, jQuery and other cutting-edge UI technologies. The backend is based on the Hybris commerce suite. This individual will regularly create and document frontend technical designs based on functional requirements as well as implement the design. The Lead UI Developer will work collaboratively with business analysts & product owners to understand functional UI requirements and implement them. Additionally, this individual will work collaboratively with other developers & UI/UX designers to share coding best practices & UX design specifications and ensure standardized techniques across the team.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop modular and maintainable HTML, CSS, Javascript, and JQuery for our eCommerce website
Continuously improve functionality and customer-interface of new Web/Mobile applications
Interact with the business and other technology teams
Translate functional requirements documents & UX design specifications into technical design and implementation
Schedule and coordinate changes and releases for production applications
Identify and evaluate new UI technologies for implementation
Mentor and coach mid-level and junior-level UI developers
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Experience, Skills and Education:
7+ years’ experience developing Java web applications with emphasis on UX design & development
It will be added advantage if the backend experience is on leading e-commerce platforms such as Hybris, Oracle ATG, IBM Webshpere or complex Java web applications
Bachelor''s degree in Computer Science, Technology or related field
Strong Skills implementing UI design using HTML 5, CSS 3, jQuery, JQueryUI, JavaScript, consuming JSON web-services,AJAX.
Experience in Responsive and Adaptive Web Design
Experience in designing and developing UI for various devices (desktop, table, mobile, etc
Basic knowledge of Image Manipulation Tooling like: PHOTOSHOP, GIMP
Understanding/Exposure to Java Server Pages and JSTL
Preferred Experience, Skills and Education:
Significant experience in using tools like Eclipse, SVN, Jira, etc.
Experience working within short development cycles using agile methods
Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
Experience in performance tuning of the front end elements
Strong problem-solving skills, excellent verbal and written communications skills
Passion for keeping up to speed with the latest software tools and methodologies
