Core Responsibilities
Work with offshore resources and onsite leads and the IT PMs
Work with architecture groups to implement what is needed
Work with a rich technology stack to build an integrated platform and redesign the pre-existing major database
application
Enforce coding standards, design and perform code reviews
Coordinate and resolve issues faced by the offshore team
Mentor offshore team about technical, design and business requirements
Track offshore work progress and make sure delivery of work is as per timelines and with high-quality standards
Must be able to work independently with little guidance from others and in a team environment
DB2 ‘Distributed’ DBA/Developer Responsibilities
DBA experiences with DB2/zOS & DB2/LUW Database Administration
Experience installing and upgrading OS/DB’s
Solid understanding of Database technology - DB2 UDB Distributed databases including DPF
Extensive Database performance tuning experience
Good understanding of Linux/VM platform
Experience with Database monitoring tools
Database performance tuning skills
Installation of database software
Design and create databases
Deploy database components by DDL/DCL
Backup and Recovery of databases
Data refresh
Troubleshooting any database related issues
Performance Tuning
Database version upgrade, patching, etc
Replication setup and operations
High Availability Disaster Recovery configuration
Database maintenance
Scripting and Automation of database admin related activities
Analyze subsystem performance using Omegamon
Optimize current poorly performing DB2 components. Optimize CICS region performance for all CICS regions.DB2
for z/OS performance monitoring and tuning.
Completes specific team task activities as outlined in the project work plan and other job-related duties as assigned
Maintains close coordination with the Analysts at various geo locations with respect to the status of tickets, issues etc
Good understanding of Windows, Linux/VM platform
Experience with Database monitoring tools
