Pay rate: 45.80-48.80 based on experience .
Barrister Global Services Network Inc. is currently looking for a motivated, highly detailed, organized and outgoing individual to support one of our major nationwide clients. The successful applicant should be able to quickly adapt their knowledge to the current IT environment and be able to enhance the current systems in place. They should also possess excellent verbal and written communication skills so as to be understood by technical and non-technical personnel.

Job Summary :

Data modeling is the process through which a mass of data is separated into a structure that makes it intelligible to the binary processes of computers and useful to a business or large institution. You will be responsible for producing and maintaining conceptual, logical and physical data models, and physical data architecture of operational data stores, data warehouses and data marts. Part of your job will be to participate in design, development and implementation of architectural deliverables, to include components of the assessment and optimization of system design and review of user requirements.


Essential Job Functions:
Learn and follow our best practices for standard physical naming conventions and database coding practices to ensure consistency of data models.
Discover and recommend opportunities for reuse of data models in new environments.
Maintain a model repository using ERWin’s Model Mart
Synchronize physical models with instantiated databases, ensuring that database structures match their models
Test all DDL before deployment.



Requirements :
Ability to develop data models to meet the needs of the organization''s information systems.
Ability to create logical and physical data models using best practices to ensure high data quality and reduced redundancy
Ability to evaluate data models and physical databases for variances and discrepancies.
Ability to Validate business data objects for accuracy and completeness.
Understand and apply appropriate design principles: for relational databases, NOSQL databases, JSON files, XML files
Ability to generate accurate and complete data definition language (DDL) from ERWin physical models
Ability to synchronize physical models with instantiated databases, ensuring that database structures match their models



Preferred :
Stay informed of the ways our client uses its data.
Ability to understand and translate business needs into data models supporting long-term solutions.
Ability to maintain conceptual, logical and physical data models along with corresponding metadata.
Ability to maintain data integrity by working to eliminate redundancy, unnecessary replication, and attribute overloading.
Have 1-2 years exposure to retail supply chain databases.
