Job Description:
The LP 2013 Project was created pursuant to the establishment of the New York Secure Ammunition and Firearms Enforcement Act of 2013 (NY SAFE ACT The LP 2013 project has multi-year, multiple deliverable project implementing all aspects of the SAFE Act regarding assault weapons, pistol permits, ammunition sales, etc.
This is a hands–on technical assignment working with the New York State Information Technology Services Public Safety Cluster supporting NYS/ITS project efforts. Responsibilities include but are not limited to architecting, designing and constructing new web services and business services, fixing defects, build enhancements and server configuration.

The individual selected for this position will perform systems design, development and support efforts directed by the management team within the Public Safety Cluster. The position will be part of a technical team. The candidate will provide service under all of the unit’s policies, guidelines and operational procedures.
Day to day tasks include but are not limited to the following:

1. Development of Web Services and Web Service Security
2. Development of front end using JSF, JavaScript, and WebSphere Portal
3. Developing enterprise applications for IBM WebSphere Application Server, IBM WebSphere Portal and IBM DataPower Appliance
4. Database Programming in Oracle and MS SQL (Microsoft Structure Query Language)
5. Defining various MQ objects such as Queues, Listeners, and Channels
6. Developing in JAVA and J2EE (Java 2 Platform, Enterprise Edition) including JMS (Java Message Service), EJB (Enterprise JavaBeans), JAXWS (Java API (Application Programming Interface) for XML Web Services), and JPA.

SKILL MATRIX:
1. Minimum 60 months hands-on experience developing highly available, scalable, multitier enterprise applications using Service Oriented Architecture utilizing JEE design patterns and technologies including Java Messaging (JMS), Enterprise Java Beans (EJB) and Message Queue (MQ #OF MONTHS 16
2. Minimum 60 months hands-on experience developing applications in JavaServer Faces (JSF) in IBM WebSphere Portal 6.1 or higher. #OF MONTHS 16
3. Minimum 60 months hands-on experience developing applications that were implemented with JAVA Development Kit (JDK 1.6 or higher #OF MONTHS 16
4. Minimum 60 months hands-on experience writing and maintaining code using Enterprise JavaBeans (EJB) and Java Persistence API (JPA) /Hibernate. #OF MONTHS 16
5. Minimum 60 months hands-on experience developing and deploying applications in IBM WebSphere Application servers 7.0 or higher. #OF MONTHS 8
6. Minimum 12 months hands-on experience developing, implementing and integrating systems related to criminal justice processing at the state or federal level (including but not limited to: disposition processing, fingerprint identification processing, criminal history updating, Sex Offender management, tracking of Wanted/Missing persons, or initiatives related to Offender Supervision #OF MONTHS 8
