Position Description
The Integration Developer / Data Architect is a hands-on role requiring API and Transactional Data expertise, strong technical ability, communication and collaboration. The role includes analysis, design and development relating to data and its flow within and across a combination of internal and vendor-supported solutions. This role is a member of a newly formed team tasked with building and integrating key internal and vendor components of a critical “system of systems”.
Job Responsibilities
Perform deep analysis of data requirements across new and existing applications.
Define and prove out data models in support of the key business domain area.
Work across technology teams and lines of business to understand and collaboratively solve for impact to existing application integrations.
Create and implement such artifacts as database structures, API payload/service specifications and messaging models (down to the object, field/attribute level) by working closely with Technical Leads and other team members.
Incorporate needs for secure handling of private, sensitive, and confidential data and information in accordance with standards, policies and best practices.
Ensure that all data flow within and between applications is secured, logged, and fully traceable for business, regulatory, auditability and issue resolution purposes.
Design and build data mapping and translation logic and code between core backend, its client systems, and notification delivery platform right down to the parameter and attribute level.
Review business and non-functional requirements to capture and understand project requirements.
Provide Technical support during Development, Testing, and Deployment of projects.
Proactive, regular communications with the Technology Leads and Management on status, changes and/or issues.
Performs root cause analysis, efficient production support and maintenance/enhancements for existing applications
Qualifications
6+ years of development experience on Java and J2EE frameworks in building resilient and highly performant transactional applications with a focus on and affinity for working with the data that enables applications.
Experience using tools to diagram and document data flows, entity relationships, database structures.
Experience with designing data level integration with internal and 3rd party applications using a variety of integration patterns including API, File and Stream-based patterns.
Extensive experience designing and building SOA services (SOAP & REST) and middleware integration for large distributed enterprise applications.
Expert level data analysis capabilities using a variety of data query languages including SQL and BI tools.
Experience with Object Relational mapping tools, Swagger and JSON Schema.
Significant experience on multiple SDLC methodologies (Agile, Scrum, Kanban, Waterfall)
BS Degree or equivalent work experience in a software engineering discipline
Proficiency in developing highly available applications using open source Java technologies and Frameworks such as Spring, Spring Boot, CXF, XML and Camel.
Expertise working with a variety of SQL/NoSQL databases, data translation tools.
Good to have:
Experience working with AWS Services such as API Gateway, RDS, SQS, and Lambda a strong plus.
Experience working with customer-centric organizations a strong plus.
