Front-End Web Application Developer

The Front-End Web Application Developer is essential to PSJSP Information Sharing Environment (ISE) project implementation to ensure the new single view portal meets the County business needs and quality standards.

The ISE project needs a front-end web developer who will be responsible for implementing visual elements that users see and interact within the single view portal - web application.

Without this resource the PSJSP program’s ISE project is at risk of not being delivered on time and not properly developed application.

1. Skills Requirement:

a. JavaScript / Typescript

b. HTML5

c. CSS

d. Jasmine and Karma (Automated test)

e. Angular CLI (Preferred)

f. Git

g. Web Services (REST) / HTTPS

h. Material Design / Angular Material (Preferred)

2. Experience Requirement:

a. Three or more years’ experience with Angular JS or Angular framework. Some Angular experience is preferred.

b. Proficient understanding of web markup, including HTML5, CSS3;

c. Basic understanding of server-side CSS pre-processing platforms, such as SCSS;

d. Proficient understanding of client-side scripting and JavaScript frameworks, including jQuery;

e. Good understanding of AngularJS;

f. Good understanding of asynchronous request handling

g. Basic knowledge of image authoring tools, to be able to crop, resize, or perform small adjustments on an image.
Familiarity with tools such as Gimp or Photoshop is a plus.

h. Proficient understanding of cross-browser compatibility issues and ways to work around them.

i. Proficient understanding of code versioning tools – (a plus for Git)

j. Proficient understanding of automated testing tools (a plus Karama)

k. Strong oral and written communication skills

l. Technical writing experience a plus

m. Strong analytical and quantitative skills

n. Self-Motivated and can effectively multi-task

3. Education Requirement:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or other related field

4. Responsibilities:

a. Develop new user-facing features;

b. Build reusable code and libraries for future use;

c. Ensure the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs;

d. Optimize application for maximum speed and scalability;

e. Assure that all user input is validated before submitting to back-end;

f. Collaborate with other team members and stakeholders;

g. Implement responsible web design principles to ensure that our County Private Single View Portal website

renders well across multiple devices;

h. Design a framework for creating user apps that grows with the needs of the County;

i. Monitor website performance, watch for traffic drops related to site usability problems and rectify the issues

j. Review app and feature coding and plan future website upgrades with the development team

k. Assist in the development of applications and features that will be put on the website and in internal functions as well

l. Performs other related duties as required
