Job description
Candidates should have strong development background and understand infrastructure as code methodologies in a public cloud environment.
Draw on technical expertise to identify and implement new uses of IT assisting functional business units in meeting strategic objectives.
Identify and evaluate alternative solutions- make recommendations according to the most efficient platform solution.
Identify and implement solutions which solve complex problems associated with computer equipment, capacity, limitations, and performance.
Oversee design, coding, testing, debugging, and documentation of platforms.
Collaborate with management to outline project plans, recommend updates to project plans throughout the development cycle
Act as a liaison between the Application Developers and Platform Automation team.
Contribute to code reviews and application transition
Contribute “Lessons Learned” evaluation providing information to help choose practices, methodologies, tools, technologies and programming languages.
Outline solutions which support critical applications requiring a comprehensive understanding business processes and capabilities
Build and leverage automation tools which expedite time to market for project solutions delivery.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science
5+ years of experience working within the financial industry
5+ years of experience related to application program development/ infrastructure as code (IAC) setting utilizing the required skill set.
Ability to contribute to on call rotation
Extensive SDLC knowledge
In depth experience working with multi-threaded, highly distributed and concurrent systems
Strong public cloud and cloud native technologies experience
Ability to implement infrastructure requirements as code
Strong understanding of Disaster Recovery in a public cloud environments
Experience with Configuration Management tools including Ansible
HTML5, REST services
Scripting languages including Python and Perl
Infrastructure as Code (IAC) such as Terraform and Cloud Formation
Messaging (MQSeries/Tibco/Kafka), Data Management (RDBMS, HDFS, In Memory Databases etc, and SQL.
Cloud Native Stack (Kubernetes, Redis, AWS)
