The Digital Security & Technology team develops new capabilities for
Mastercard''s Decision Management Platform, which serves as the core for
business solutions to combat fraud and validate cardholder identity. Our
patented, Java-based platform processes billions of transactions per month
with average processing times of just tens of milliseconds using a
multi-tiered, message-oriented approach for high performance and
availability. The Software Engineer will assist in developing new platform
capabilities for this high-volume transaction processing system, as well as,
web applications and services for managing fraud solutions and fraud events.
Role
Proficient with Java JDK 1.7 or greater
Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable Java code
Ensure the best possible performance, quality, and responsiveness of the
applications
Identify bottlenecks and bugs, and devise solutions to these problems
Help maintain code quality, organization, and automatization
Strong verbal and written communication skills
All About You
Bachelor''s degree in Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer
Science, Engineering or equivalent work experience
Strong communication skills - both verbal and written - and excellent
relationship, collaborative, and organizational skills
Experience employing agile development strategies including Scaled Agile
Framework (SAFe), Kanban, Agile-Scrum, storyboarding, demonstrations, and
retrospectives
Solid understanding of object-oriented programming
Familiar with various design and architectural patterns
Knowledge of concurrency patterns in Java
Creating database schemas that represent and support business processes
Implementing code coverage via unit tests
Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as SVN & Git
