JOB DESCRIPTION/MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:



This contract position is responsible for performing complex (journey-level) computer programming work in the Information Technology Services office of TDI. This position will provide software development support to migrate applications running on a J2EE platform used by the Division of Workers Compensation using DIR-classified core technology skills. Additionally, this position may participate in the planning and migration efforts of additional related applications onto a single platform. Emphasis of work performed shall be on front-end development. Works under general supervision, with moderate latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.

Experience coding, testing, and debugging code and software programs; preparing test data; compiling and documenting procedures used throughout software development and revision; and assisting in preparing and developing instructions or manuals to guide end users.

Experience analyzing, reviewing, and revising scripts and programs to increase operating efficiency or to adapt new procedures.

Experience assisting in testing applications in all environments; preparing applications to implement into production environment; and preparing instructions for use during production runs.

Experience assisting in troubleshooting solutions to software-related problems.

Experience composing technical documentation

Recent programming experience with Java (specifically but not limited to Java Server Pages, Enterprise JavaBeans, and Java Database Connectivity), Oracle databases, HTML5, JavaScript (including jQuery, AngularJS, and Bootstrap), Content Management systems, Eclipse based IDE, web browser debugging tools, Ant, secure coding practices, and Version Control software.

Working experience with Rational Application Developer, WebSphere Application Server, XML, Crystal Reports or other pdf reporting frameworks, address standardization tools such as QAS ProWeb, IBM Content Manager, SVN, Natural/ADABAS, NeuArchitect, Struts framework, SQL Server and Agile Software Development practices are preferred.

Working knowledge of ITIL-based best practices and coding to the Americans with Disabilities Act as Amended (ADAA) are also preferred.
