Job Description
As a member of the Student Applications Distributed Technology Services team, the Application Developer will be assigned to the Billing and Receivables team.
The Application Developer will be responsible for all phases of the systems development life cycle related to the Student Billing and Receivables application and subsystems.
The Application Developer will conduct detailed technical analysis, formulate application design and complete thorough testing of new features, functions or updates to the system.
The Application Developer will collaborate with stakeholders and departmental IT resources to gather requirements, develop project plans, and address system performance matters to ensure high availability.
The incumbent will also apply research of emerging technologies that improve system delivery and performance.
Additionally, the incumbent will be assigned after-hours systems support as assigned or requested.
Skills:
Angular 4 front end development
Node.JS web services development
REST preferred, SOAP would be nice
Spring w/ Modules Hibernate
Project: Enhancement to current application related to financial systems. Will interface with Oracle. Hosted on local servers.
Experience with n-tier distributed technologies such as Java, J2EE, JavaScript, JSP, JDBC, HTML, XML, Soap, Rest, HTTP, Spring, Struts, WebSphere Message Broker, Tomcat, Linux, and Windows.
Responsibilities:
Designs, develops, modifies, debugs and evaluates complex programs for functional areas through the application of professional programming concepts and industry standards.
Analyzes existing programs or works to formulate logic for new systems, devises logic procedures, performs application programming, and complex data analysis.
Designs and executes comprehensive test plans for complex applications; identifies modifications for improvement.
Develops comprehensive conversion and system implementation plans for projects with broad scope.
Applies knowledge of system and functional area to review and prepare complete technical documentation.
Applies knowledge and experience to recommend changes in development, maintenance and system standards.
Applies logical concepts in the design of relational databases used within applications and/or projects.
