Looking for a very strong technical/hands on individual contributor in Core Java. They do not need to come from the Financial Services industry – will consider people from any industry. Where candidates have been falling short is the manager either feels they are more web/UI development or just know core Java from a high level understanding
Responsibilities
The role is for a senior developer in the Derivatives Clearing IT team is to participate in the development of new functionality and enhancement of existing functionality.
The candidate will primarily focus on developing applications to handle Listed Derivatives trades for subjecting them to risk valuation.
The candidate will provide development support for the applications in Listed Derivatives.
The candidate will be required to assist with and/or conduct end-user training for all users and stakeholders for development items for which they are responsible
Essential Skills
Bachelors degree or equivalent experience.
Extensive experience with Core Java, Oracle Database.
Extensive experience in developing standalone multithreaded applications.
Exposure to JSP’s, Servlets, Weblogic/Tomcat.
Exposure to messaging applications like websphere MQ.
Experience in the various phases of the System Development Life Cycle methodology.
Experience in system design, development, and implementation.
Experience with scripting language like Perl.
Ability to work alone, as a team member, and/or across multiple teams concurrently.
Experience in Investment Banking.
Strong oral and written communications skills.
Strong analytical and listening skills.
Experience with Derivatives clearing/settlement processes and applications is a plus
Experience in Listed Derivatives, FX domains and working business knowledge of futures, options and spread trading.
