Role: Senior Linux & Networking Triage Engineer
Location: On-site, San Jose, CA

Senior Network/Linux (ideally experience across both) that plays a key role in building a global infrastructure that supports the rapid growth of Nutanix. The Engineer will triage post-implementation issues spanning Linux and Networking. They will automate and orchestrate services, triage deployment, and update DC inventory databases. Their value will also be to automate large scale configuration and testing.
This is a critical IT function, so the candidate must have extensive experience in virtual environments, Linux systems server software, networking (hands on), and data center server infrastructure and operations. We are looking for infrastructure automation developers to help build a next generation environment for Data Center migrations
· Design and develop automation that eliminates manual tasks involved with large scale systems configuration and deployment. Includes testing and analyzing performance, reliability, and scalability.
· Work closely with development, test, documentation and product management teams to deliver high-quality products in a fast-paced environment.
· Python scripting, REST API’s. For ex. Automate testing of DC inventory in Google sheets using REST
· Supporting the engineering organization in troubleshooting issues with the infrastructure (server hardware, networking) and software applications
· Coordinating closely with the Engineering team on hardware deployment, service upgrades, and outages (planned and unplanned)
· Mentor emerging technical talent and serve as a technical guide
· IPMI (out of band management), and debug SW vs HW issues
· Expert working knowledge of Linux Systems Networking (Redhat/CentOS, and Ubuntu)
· Server Administration, and TCP/IP Networking.
· DNS/DHCP: Enterprise IPAM (Infoblox), Debugging DNS and DHCP issues
· Strong problem-solving and communication skills
· Experience using virtualization technologies such as AHV, VMware, Hyper-V, Nutanix
· Python scripting, REST API’s, Google Sheet Parsing (scripted)
· Comfortable with Cisco, Arista CLI
· Layer 2/Layer 3, Simple routing, Spanning Tree, MLAG, LACP
· Solid debugging skills and strategies
· Interface types, 1/10/100Gb, Cu and optical

Stronger Candidates will also have:
Experience deploying and maintaining Nutanix AHV
Windows Systems knowledge is a plus
GitHub/Source Code control systems
Ansible, Salt Stack, Chef, Puppet
SDN, BigSwitch

· BS or MS in Computer Science or related field is required.
· Minimum of 5 or more years of Systems Administration experience.
