Responsible for developing and deploying integrated solutions aimed at modernizing, consolidating, and coordinating the independently designed applications within and across Georgia Tech’s Enterprise Systems. Possess system-wide responsibility on complex components or business processes. This positon will work with business owners to analyze data requirements to design integration and recommend a technical solution (Application Programming Interfaces (API’s), Extract, Transform and Load (ETL), etc Build, test, and deploy on premise and cloud integrations necessary to support the Enterprise applications. This position will work within Enterprise Information Systems (EIS) and other units (Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Enterprise Data Management (EDM), etc) to develop integration best practices and standards. Responsible for setting employee goals, assessing employee performance and providing feedback, and making pay recommendations.


This position will interact on a regular basis with: unit and department management and staff, Technical/Functional business owners across the Institute

This position typically will advise and counsel: unit management

This position will supervise: assigned technical staff


Duties may include but are not limited to:

· Determine how existing applications, legacy systems, databases, Web interfaces, and/or hardware logic, which may be currently operating on multiple platforms, work together to meet the new and emerging enterprise requirements.

· Build and support integrations by building them in appropriate technology (API’s or ETL), monitoring, testing, and proactively monitoring performance.

· Manage system testing and deployments to ensure integrations work as designed and are migrated appropriately.

· Design integrations with input from business owners including source to target mapping, frequency, tool, owner, etc.

· Analyze integration requirements with business and system owners to understand system, technical capabilities, owners and priority.

· Review current technologies, ensure Georgia Tech’s integration strategy and best practices match current technology, and standardize across multiple technology groups.

· Lead component and data architecture strategy for multiple technical groups.

· Train others in the skills of Enterprise Application Integration (EAI) methodologies and processes.

· Act as first-level supervisor and provide leadership, coaching, and/or mentoring to a team or teams of technical staff.

· Perform other related duties as assigned.


Degrees required for this job: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience

Degrees preferred:

Years of experience required for this job: Five to seven years job related experience


Specialized skills required for this job:

This job requires the ability to write and maintain technical support documentation, working knowledge of project development life cycle activities and maintenance, knowledge of data extractions techniques, ability to write Structured Query Language (SQL), proficient skills in writing SQL of various complexities, advanced knowledge of ETL and cloud integration tools, strong written and verbal communication skills including the ability to express ideas concisely and clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences, problem solving and analytical skills in resolving technical problems, a good understanding of business requirements and IT strategies, and the ability to work independently and also be a team player.

Specialized skills preferred

Preferred skills include knowledge of the Higher Education environment, PeopleSoft/PeopleTools, Workday, Banner, cloud integration technologies, ETL tools such as DataStage, Java development, object-oriented development, cloud application management, and enterprise system implementation.
