Infrastructure Engineer

Roles & Responsibilities
Ensuring current and future IT capacity needs are met based on the forecast from Business/Projects in the Enterprise
Monitoring the performance of the IT infrastructure.
Managing and rationalizing demand for IT service
Ensure better utilization of existing capacity can be accomplished through improvements in overall equipment effectiveness.
Review business cases to evaluate if a procurement is required or not.
Optimizing the existing usage of the enterprise capacity
Providing resource guidance for new environment builds
Reporting on the existing usage and subscription of the resources – Storage, Compute
Ensure we have adequate Blade enclosure slots for ESXi/Blade expansions
Ensure production/non-prod and DR compute and storage is available
Ensure better utilization of SAN and NAS storage systems - EMC, Pure, and NetApp storage Systems.
Monitor the performance of Storage Systems – SAN Arrays, Port Traffic, Disk IOPS etc.
Monitoring performance and capacity of network systems to ensure IP and port availability.
Desired Skills:
VM Ware, vROPS, vCenter
SAN Storage, SAN Switch – (EMC, Pure) Performance & Capacity Monitoring
Client Blade System

MS Office Suite – Excel to provide Reports/Forecasts to Management and Executives
