Job Description:
Sr. Infrastructure Engineer is responsible for engineering, implementing, and supporting infrastructure services and virtualization technologies in secure and highly available computing platforms, both on premises and in the cloud. That includes expert technical assistance in resolving complex issues, installation, maintenance, upgrades, and related configuration tasks in the virtual infrastructure. This position requires advanced technical knowledge and hands-on experience with the VMware and AWS Cloud, and related technologies.
Engineer shall be experienced in data center storage, virtualization, enclave security practices, be adept in industry standards and best practices in converged infrastructure. A candidate need to demonstrate an ability to initiate a design enhancement to make virtual and cloud-based infrastructure more efficient and better architected, including an ability to advice and cross-train fellow engineers in the team. Should be able to efficiently analyze existing solutions and services and develop an implementation plan for most efficient migration to the new platforms or data centers, as well as lead migration efforts.
Infrastructure Engineer will design compute solutions, based on application needs and anticipated growth, responsible for evaluation of emerging infrastructure technologies, supporting data center operations and supporting third party providers with operations security analysis and deployment.
Need good communication skills and an ability to work collaboratively with other technical colleagues from other teams.
Imperative expertise: VMware, converged infrastructure, AWS Cloud, proven automation experience with PowerShell, Python, JavaScript or other scripting languages, solid understanding of security best practices.
Desired knowledge: Cisco UCS hardware, HP hardware, P2V experience, hands-on in IAC (infrastructure as a code) on-prem and in AWS, vRealize, vxRail, vRA.
