Job Description :
Duties:

Responsibility for planning, developing, testing, and documenting specialized computer programs used by our company.
Develop enterprise technology configuration standards and adapt enterprise solutions to specific business-related requirements.
Analyze and troubleshoot complex issues, and implement solutions by providing recommendations for application and system improvements.
Participate on a technology infrastructure team to implement enterprise and customer-specific technologies into a managed production environment.
Utilize technical expertise to address problems of system integration, compatibility, across multiple platforms.
Evaluate and create new tools and techniques to facilitate effective infrastructure related practices and setting the standard for highest quality of work.
Develop new and replacement technologies as well as working with the architecture team to review emerging technologies.
Work on deploying of applications using tools such as puppet and chef.
Responsible for making all required changes, tracking and allocating available resources enterprise-wide, tracking reserved and used resources, and opening service requests with American Airlines’ MSPs for deployment into managed production environments.
Develop and maintain system and application documentation with regard to troubleshooting, maintenance, start/stop, logging, etc.

Required Skills/ Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, telecommunications, or related field plus 5 years’ experience in infrastructure engineering, system architecture, network engineering, or hardware engineering, and demonstrated experience in:
Airline Industry;
Virtualization technologies including Vmware and Solaris Container/Zone;
Oracle Engineered systems configuration and setup;
External storage (SAN/NAS) for configuration and administration of storage subsystems;
Solaris Packages and RPM maintenance and participate in patch management;
Boot process and run levels, paging and swapping, inter-process communication, functions of devices and device drivers and file system concepts;
Security analysis including PCI, PII , SOX compliance;
Shell scripting knowledge as Unix Administrator;
Backup and restore of UNIX servers;
Knowledge of capacity monitoring and planning for large Enterprise scale systems;
High Availability concept/knowledge with load balancing techniques (i.e. Local Datacenter HA or Disaster Recovery across multiple Datacenters;
Knowledge of proxy service, naming services LDAP and DNS
Expert knowledge of Solaris, Linux and Windows Operating Systems;
Understanding of networking protocols/concepts and technology including router, firewall;
Knowledge of a clustering software (VERITAS and/or Sun)
