Overview of the Role:
The Application Packager (Packager) will be a dedicated resource to create, test and deploy App-V packages in a multi-user environment as part of a Citirx migration project. The Packager will be responsible for packaging all applications and perform initial application and deployment testing, before completing pilots with associates to verify the application is working as expected.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for App-V packaging of all applications identified by the project team in alignment with the packaging standards.
Complete the application packaging phase within the project timeframes.
Ensure software is packaged to agreed standards.
Manage the deployment of applications to a VDI and Citrix environment.
Adhere to testing processes and procedures for both packages and deployments.
Provide third line application deployment support.
Provide guidance and training to second and first line support teams.
Work closely with the rest of the IT to ensure a consistent, standardized global environment.
Ensure that policies defined by the Security team are implemented and maintained.
Identify and highlight areas of the environment that can be improved.
Assumes additional duties as assigned.
Technical Skills & Qualifications
Microsoft Application Virtualization (App-V) 5.1 – Sequencer and advanced troubleshooting.
Citrix XenDesktop 7.6 LTSB technologies – Application deployment and publishing.
Flexera AdminStudio Suite – Repackaging Applications for Windows Installer.
Scripting languages PowerShell and VBScript.
Client technologies: Windows 7+, Internet Explorer 11+, VMWare Workstation, Office 2010 and 365.
Microsoft Windows Group Policy Management.
Experience working on previous Windows O/S migration projects.
