Job Title: Information Security Engineer
Location: Sterling, VA
Bachelors/Masters in computer science with emphasis on information/cyber security, computer forensics desirable, or display equivalent experience and working knowledge.
4 - 8+ years of experience within security / cyber-security
Operational experience responding to security incidents in a production environment preferred.
Display knowledge of networking, protocols, and prevalent operating systems.
Knowledge of scripting and programming languages preferred.
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with strong verbal and written communication skills.
Strong technical understanding of threats and threat actors including attack methodology, tools, trends and effective ways to mitigate against such threats.
Position requires shift work and ability to support on-call periods
Responsibilities:
Monitoring and triage of security related events across networks and systems.
·Conduct incident analysis, notification, response, support, and coordination in a production environment.
·Conduct incident response investigations across mobile, desktop, and server operating systems.
·Coordinate with internal security operations and risk management teams to further improve overall security posture.
·Integrate, maintain, and support monitoring and alerting software and systems (open-source and commercial
·Responsible for reverse malware engineering, forensic analysis and investigation and cyber incident response in both on premise and cloud environments.
