Job Description :
This individual will be a part of the Technology Team and should be comfortable working with / supporting multiple databases & data driven applications and solutions. This senior role requires a strong ETL developer and will be responsible for teaming to create a world-class data environment through the use of sound architecture, design, and development standards. He/she has the experience to design the optimal performance strategy, and manage the technical metadata across all ETL jobs.
The candidate will work on the design, development and implementation of data access methods and environments.
The Technology Platform consists of mainframe and distributed architecture including multiple interfaces both internal and external to the business unit''s Organization. The systems employed include the source fund accounting, pricing, tax and data exchange platforms. The data is sourced from multiple accounting, trading and reference data systems, stored in central database and shared with internal or external customer groups through system-to-system interfaces to support fund setup, reporting, analytic and oversight functions. Working closely with technology support functions, the role of this team is to ensure the data and functionality is complete, accurate and available to users in a timely manner.
Primary Responsibilities:
Provide technical expertise and “hands on” participation in creating, maintaining and implementing enterprise data solutions.
Design, development, and delivery of data (both real-time and batch) from operational systems/flat files into a staging area, ODSs (operational data stores), Data Warehouse and downstream Data Marts.
Expert in Informatica PowerCenter (PowerCenter Web Services Hub experience would be a plus)
Troubleshoot, optimize and tune ETL processes
Create and execute unit test plans based on system and validation requirements
Extensively worked with large databases in production environments
Working with various IT teams to analyze data in the data warehouse, data mart or operational systems
Mentor & train other junior Informatica developers
Review and analyze ETL requirements
Develop mapping/sessions/workflows
Maintain existing code and fix bugs when needed
Work on multiple projects simultaneously. Work independently and as a team lead, be responsible for working with application groups to gather requirements, creating logical data models, designing new database schema or re-use existing structures, determining data movement strategy as well as data availability and recoverability.
Adhere to and implement enterprise architecture concepts, principles and data access strategy with project deliverables.
Skills and Knowledge:
The Sr. Informatica Developer is required to have proven experience and expertise in enterprise data architecture and database engineering design and development:
5 + years of experience in Informatica PowerCenter
5 + years’ experience with Oracle development including high level of expertise in SQL, stored procedures, indexes, partitioning, database design and tuning.
3+ years of experience in designing multidimensional data warehouse structures such as star schemas, cubes etc
3+ years of experience in working with MDM or Data Quality Management tools - we don’t need this
Data Environment – Oracle 10g/11g; - Expert
Data Engineering – PL/SQL and SQL – Expert
3+ years UNIX experience
3+ years’ development experience with Control-M or other similar enterprise-scaled job scheduling and workload automation software
The Sr. Informatica Developer will have:
Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems or Computer Science; MS is preferred
8+ years’ experience in designing, developing and implementing enterprise data solutions
5 years’ experience with development in Informatica
Applied experience in data architecture for data driven applications
Expert ability to interpret business concepts into data models and physical technical components
Experience in the delivery of the physical implementation of enterprise conceptual and logical data model solutions
Expert ability to design and develop data access methods and data views
Expert ability to design and implement operational data store solutions
Understanding of Financial Services and Asset Management Industry is a big plus
Excellent communication skills, including technical writing, one on one interactions and the ability to clearly receive and convey information to a broader technical team
Special Instructions:
New ETL Informatica role in Durham, NC, must have Oracle, unix and informatica experience preferably would like to have control-m but this is a plus.
