Title: Progress Developer

Location: Harrisburg, PA, United States

Most likely full time, but may do a Right To Hire option

The developers are responsible for the design and execution of software enhancements to the application portfolio of D&H. They incorporate analysis, design, coding, testing and documenting skills to achieve the software changes. They need to exhibit troubleshooting skills to resolve system problems. There are five levels of developers including an entry level or trainee level. Each level encompasses the responsibilities and requirements of all previous levels.


Software programming – process of writing and maintaining source code primarily using the Progress platform
Use source control for access to the software modules/programs
Ability to unit test completed code
Ability to understand and modify complex code
Ability to understand, maintain and enhance databases
Ability to properly document code changes and new features
Ability to perform in-depth code reviews for team
Ability to mentor team
Ability to lead projects
Ability to supervise the team

Keeps work area neat, clean and hazard free.
Must work in other areas, as needed for cross training and/or workload.
Other related duties as assigned.


This position could have supervisory responsibilities at the manager''s discretion so the candidate should have the ability to supervise a team of developers.
