Job Title: ITIL Process Consultant
Location: Atlanta.
1. Role Description:
This position is responsible for providing analysis, documentation and reports in support of the Event Management ITIL process.
Event Management is a key component in minimizing the impact to customers that are the result of system and application errors.
Travelport’s technology environment is large and diverse and demands sophisticated systems that monitor the health of these applications to quickly illuminate the impact and point to the root cause.
The monitoring systems must be continuously adjusted by automation as well as analysis.
The effectiveness of the Event Management team and tools must likewise be continuously evaluated and improved.
This position aids in maintaining that effectiveness.
2.Main Accountabilities:
Meet with subject matter experts in the various technology areas to extract and document the essential requirements for monitoring.
Meet with other ITIL process managers and practitioners to agree upon and document process integration policies and procedures.
Programatically access systems through APIs to extract data used in validating monitoring configurations and for report content.
Systems include Service Now, Tivoli, AppDynamcis, Nagios, SPLUNK and others.
Maintain knowledge articles pertaining to monitoring and event management.
Maintain and update Event Management Process KPI dashboard.
3. Knowledge, Skills, Experience, Training, Education:
BS in Computer Science or work experience.
ITIL v3 Foundations Certification.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, Visio and Powerpoint.
Service Now Knowledge Management desirable.
Python required. BASH and Powershell desirable.
Working knowledge of monitoring and notification protocols including logfile structures (syslog), SNMP, Web hooks, and others.
API protocols including Web Services and others.
The ability to read standards and verify that they are applied.
Experience with SPLUNK, Nagios, AppDynamics and Tivoli desirable.
Experience with Cloud environment services such as AWS, Microsoft Azure.
Able to effectively communicate with stakeholders.
