Job Description :
This position would be working as Sr. System Administrator / Automation Engineer.
Following are the core project duties:
Infrastructure Software Compliance (ISC
Design, Install, configure and maintain heterogeneous environment Linux/UNIX, Windows and cross domain services/systems.
Design, build, and maintain virtual environments based on VMware technologies. Analyze and resolve problems associated with server hardware, operating system and applications software.
Perform a wide variety of tasks in software/hardware maintenance and operational support systems.
Manage and provide security reviews and support during the development, integration, testing, and release phases for developed system components.
Install, test and validate the new emerging software’s/tools to check the compatibility on existing and new infrastructure servers.
Developing scripts on configuration management tool BigFix for software deployment using native language (action scripts and relevance Also created workflows for run book automation of multi-platform using VMware vRealize orchestrator.
Developing and deploying the Shell and Perl scripts to automate the system administrator tasks and Implement Chef Automation tools to automate Cloud provisioning and configuration.
Automate the provisioning of servers, configuration management of systems/infrastructure and continuous deployment across different environments using various technologies/tools like BigFix, VRO, Chef, Ansible, VMware and Cloud.
Managing successful migration of complex infrastructure and critical production environments with no impact to business.
Supporting VMware infrastructure environment that supports virtual machines across distributed Development, Test and Production environments.
Responsible for Planning and Design, Virtualization and Migration for the storage based migration.
Installation, Configuration and Administration of VERITAS NetBackup, VERITAS Storage Foundation and Storage Foundation Custer File System.
Installing, configuring, supporting and troubleshooting Linux/Unix Networking services and protocols.
Install, Configure and Administration of ESXi/ESX, vSphere, Apache Tomcat, and Weblogic applications.
Install and configure of Oracle, and DB2 applications on Linux/Unix Servers.
Installation of patches and package administration on VMware and Linux as per the company policy.
Work to continuously to improve the quality and efficiency of the complete infrastructure architecture.
Support heterogeneous environment for maximum uptime and troubleshoot operating systems, and network related issues.
Support and maintenance of various applications involving 24/7 on-call rotations.
