Location: Detroit, MI
Duration: 11 months


Engagement Description:
Client is currently seeking an IT Project Manager for our Enterprise Information Management Data Mgt & Integration/ Jefferson facility. This Project Manager will work independently within guidelines, be responsible for initiating, planning, executing, controlling, and closing application and system implementation projects using a formal project management methodology. Additional responsibilities include facilitating status meetings with project team members to collect % complete, remaining work, due dates, issues, risks, etc. Excellent project management, consultative, logical reasoning and analytical skills are a must. Work will consist of a mix of complex, medium and simple projects


Top Three Skills/Experience:
- Excellent analytical, logical reasoning, analytical organizational, verbal and written communication skills and attention to details a must. Must be able to exhibit in relation to data integration and management
- 3-5 years experience with, or exposure to, Data Warehouse or Information Management solutions and SQL.
- Excellent consultative skills and must demonstrate ability to build relationship with business partners


Departmental Requirements:
- Proven competence in analyzing business needs and working with cross functional (technical & non technical) teams to deliver enterprise solutions.
- Experience leading a matrix project team to define, establish, and ensure completion of all program milestones while adhering to timelines and budgets.
- Proven experience managing projects at various levels of complexity using different Project Management Methodologies.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to details a must
- Thorough knowledge and understanding of the Software development Lifecycle (SDLC)
- Prior experience with, or exposure to, Data Warehouse or BI solutions
- Prior experience leading Information Technology (IT) implementation projects
- Experience in creating and managing detailed project plans for small to high complexity projects
- Creates and executes project work plans and revises as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements
- Prior experience leading cross-functional teams which may consist of employees, contractors, and consulting partners
- Manages day-to-day operational aspects of a project and scope
- Reviews deliverables prepared by team before passing to client
- Minimizes exposure and risk on project
- Ensures project documents are complete, current, and stored appropriately
- Tracks and reports team hours and expenses on a weekly basis
- Experience working with and managing 3rd party vendors on Project Deliverables

Departmental Preferences:
- Prior experience delivering initiatives utilizing agile project management
- Prior experience in healthcare or payer industry is preferred

Essential Company Duties and Responsibilities:
- General corporate functions applied to IT: budgeting, financial and contracts management, audit, compliance, human resources, training and development.
- With general guidance and coaching, responsible for initiating, planning, executing, controlling, and closing application and system implementation projects using a formal project management methodology.
- Typically manages 1-3 project of complex size and multiple projects of small to moderate size and risk concurrently.
- Oversees the system development process.
- Develops detailed plans and schedules, including goals, risks, and resource allocation.
- Monitors project metrics for significant deviations in quality, cost, or schedule.
- Assists in establishing and improving project management methodologies, procedures and policies.
- Adheres to Project Management Office policies, procedures, and methodologies.
- Coaches and mentors individuals on the project teams and provides feedback on performance to their leaders.
- Oversees client/customer relations to ensure that service expectations are developed and met.

Essential Company Education and/or Experience:
- Bachelor''s Degree in related field preferred.
- Minimum five (3) years experience in a delivery or consulting role leading Information Management related initiatives (system integration, data warehouse build, data mart build, or similar) is required
- Excellent analytical, organizational, verbal and written communication skills.
- Utilizes solid knowledge of the Project Management Institute''s standards and terminology.
- Extensive creativity required across areas of expertise.
- Other related skills and/or abilities may be required to perform this job.

- PMP certification is a plus.
