IT Business Analyst/PM Specialist Job Details

The Client is seeking an experienced IT Business Analyst/Project Manager to join the US Business Value team in a key role required for shaping, and defining fit-for-purpose IT technologies, solutions and services with our US business partners.

The candidate will have significant experience in the E&P (Exploration and Production) business and corporate areas and will be able to converse fluently with business and IT personnel alike. The role will entail taking significant responsibility for conceptualizing and delivering activities for technological solutions that will help the business achieve its objectives. The candidate will be proactive, have strong stakeholder management skills and be a pragmatic problem-solver.

The IT Business Analyst/Project Manager is required to have a good understanding of the exploration and production domain, business workflows, corporate areas and related IT applications requests of the business. Must be able to liaison with another IT Services areas (BAs/PMs/Architects) in order to obtain the necessary support in the analysis, design and development of projects undertaken. The role will engage and collaborate effectively with US Asset Managers, field operation offices and corporate business areas such as Finance, Legal, P&O, Compliance, etc., as their IT business partner, and with IT colleagues in Canada, United States and Spain to assure IT services align to the company’s overall strategy and value drivers.

Gather and document business requirements that will be used for functional and technical design analysis.

Develop business case conceptualizations to help achieve the strategic business objectives including the definition of
value measurements metrics to validate that expected benefits would achieve.

Align the local activities with the central and regional team’s efforts in order to take advantage of synergies between
the different businesses that the team supports and within the IT E&P and Corporate groups.

Anchor Weekly meetings stand ups to review hot-topics and to provide updates

Participate in the preparation of the annual budget comprising projects and IT services plans.

Work with business stakeholders and IT colleagues to manage the pipeline of IT investment opportunities, develop
priority opportunities that establish clear business cases with appropriate detail to enable decisions.

Identify, assess and help prioritize the needs of the Trading business (requirements) for the effective development of
projects (term, acceptance of the proposal, progress, etc ensuring a correct understanding by the rest of the IT
organization.

Participate and ensure proper execution of projects led by other areas of IT, guaranteeing consistency with existing
business processes and participating in the relationship with the rest of stakeholders involved.

Maintain communication with the business, promoting forms of collaborative / trust work, managing change and
informing and facilitating decision-making to help achieve the objective of adding value.

As IT representative and trusted advisor, actively manage relationship with business teams to represent IT matters in
business forums, be informed of business activities and share relevant information with colleagues in other IT areas.

Participate in the development of IT Roadmaps, analyzing improvement opportunities to provide greater efficiency and
better services in alignment with the business strategy.

Maintain communication with external service providers, coordinating the execution of tasks in the form and term to
ensure quality service.

Work with business stakeholders to facilitate business change management as required to implement new or evolved
services successfully.

IT Business Analyst/PM Mandatory Skills

US citizen or permanent resident.
Bachelor’s degree (minimum 4 years undergraduate) preferably in Computer Science or Information Management.

Business Analyst experience minimum 5+ years and PMI-PBA certification is desirable.

Project Management experience minimum 4+ years and PMP certification is desirable.

A strong grasp and understanding of Exploration and Production (E&P) business, field operations, and corporate areas

Experience of supporting and or executing medium/large projects as a Business Analyst and/or Project Manager.

Strong stakeholder management, facilitation, analytical and some technical skills with the ability to design solutions
and troubleshoot issues.

Experience in the management and delivery of issue resolution, end user training and requirements gathering.

Excellent communication skills both oral and written is a must (Spanish language skills are nice to have
