Business Analyst Position – Enterprise Issue Management System
Responsibilities:
Business Requirements Development and Documentation
Elicit, analyze and document detailed business requirements for a new issue management system which will merge four Legacy systems into one vendor system supporting somewhat diverse business processes
Leverage understanding of Issue Management business processes for the Audit, Compliance, Risk and Global Technology & Operations organizations to work with business partners to synchronize and streamline business processes.
Work with vendor partner to design how business requirements will be handled on vendor system. Coordinate between Business stakeholders and vendor where design issues may drive modifications to original requirements.
Recommend and document requirements for operational reports related to the workflow requirements.
Requirements will include detailed field mapping, process flows, workflows and high level design documents.
Close any open items and obtain appropriate approvals for High Level Design requirements documentation.
Work with Technology partners to develop low level design for requirements written.
Provide clarifications to Development and QA Team as development and testing cycles proceed.
Collaborate with the QA team to create and execute test scripts that accurately reflect the requirements.
Write and analyze Change Controls, working with Business and Technology to do appropriate assessments to support the decision-making process.
Lead User Acceptance Testing Efforts
Lead calls with Business Stakeholders to develop UAT Test Plan. Document test plan and obtain appropriate approvals.
Facilitate development of test scripts to be used during UAT.
Lead UAT Triage effort with Business stakeholders. Determine if proposed defects are true defects based on approved requirements
Facilitate development of alternative solutions for defects identified
Provide clarifications to Development and QA Team on defects identified
Develop and manage processes to ensure that all defects are logged, tracked and resolved in a timely manner.
Post Deployment Support
Write requirements to support Enhancement requests, working with Business and Technology on high level design.
Provide clarifications to Dev and QA on Enhancement requests.
Facilitate development of test scripts that accurately reflect the requirements written.
Project manage requirements development so that development/release timelines are met.
Skills and Experience:
5+ years experience in Business Analysis and/ or Requirements documentation required
3+ years of experience working with clients or stakeholder groups to resolve issues and design solutions required
2+ years of experience on an application development project that used Oracle DB and PL/SQL preferred
1 year experience with developing and running simple sql queries for testing.
Participation in User Acceptance Testing for at least two projects required; lead role preferred.
Excellent, effective written and verbal communication skills, with experience in writing HLD, LLD design documents preferred
Experience working directly with developers to communicate/interpret business requirements
Knowledge of Risk Management processes preferred
Analytical approach to problems with attention to details within a larger context preferred
Knowledge of Jasper Reporting or MetricStream Issue Management application desired
Process mapping skills via Visio preferred
Ability to explain the logic behind their analysis and ideas clearly and concisely
Experience with Microsoft Office suite of products, including Excel, PowerPoint and Word; expert level of Excel preferred.
Knowledge of MS Access preferred
Experience with HP Quality Center and JIRA preferred
