Responsibilities

The IT Business Analyst’s role is to elicit, analyze, and validate the business needs of project stakeholders, whether they are customers or end users. This includes interviewing stakeholders, and gathering and compiling user requirements to convey to development teams throughout the software lifecycle. The IT Business Analyst will also apply proven communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to help support the development process, and to ensure that project deliverables are met according to specifications. The IT Business Analyst will play a pivotal role in ensuring IT understanding of business requirements.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with project managers and project sponsors to determine project scope and vision.

Performs analysis, scopes projects, and works with the project management team to prioritizes deliverables, and negotiate on product functionalities.

Creates detailed Business Requirement Document (BRD) and translate it into functional specifications.

Partners with business users to fully vetting their requirements, conducting interviews to gather user requirements through workshops, questionnaires, surveys, site visits, workflow storyboards, use cases, scenarios, and other methods. Documenting and presenting the results.

Provides analytic support by coordinating data extraction from various databases and data interpretation.

Partners with development and analytic teams to provide reporting on software solutions.

Participates in Integration Testing and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and Functionality Testing.

Analyzing the impact of change requests.

Supporting traceability from requirements through to QA; assisting in the definition of test plans and testing strategies and in the creation of test cases.

Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Business or IT

3+ years of experience working as a Functional, Data or Business Analyst

3+ years of experience in Access, Excel(Advanced), Visio, and MS Project

3+ years of customer interfacing experience – project oversight, customer presentation.

3+ years SQL Server 2008/2012 knowledge – T-SQL, Tables, Views

Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)

Mandatory Skills:

Business/Customer facing skills

Ability to work independently & ability to multi task

Experience of Software Development Life Cycle

Experience with the following highly desirable: Visual Studio Team Services (VSTS), Enterprise Content Management (ECM) such as OnBase by Hyland, Customer Relationship Management (CRM) such as Microsoft Dynamics O365.
