Primary skills:
· Perform engineering, programming, maintenance & backups of a Juniper and Cisco Switch Routers/ VLAN network providing a multicast aggregation environment
Secondary Skills:
· Perform engineering, programming, maintenance, upgrades & backups of multiple Cisco 7246 CMTS (cable modem termination system) DOCSIS 2.0, 3.0, and 3.1 versions.
Resposnsibilities:
Perform engineering, programming, maintenance & backups of a Juniper and Cisco Switch Routers/ VLAN network providing a multicast aggregation environment including long haul transport to other markets.
Maintain accurate records for all IP video multicast addresses, udp ports, QAM’s, EIA’s, input and output program numbers, and display channels.
Submit channel map changes, adds, drops, etc. to Hits / Company Media Center
Program, troubleshoot, and maintain all routing and switching, Standard Definition, and High Definition IP video.
Program and maintain all Satellite receivers including Cisco, and Motorola,
Perform engineering, programming, maintenance, and backups for headend equipment related to IP multicast video. Most of the equipment is Motorola and hence expertise in Motorola headend is a must.
Monitor, maintain, and upgrade Arris Video on Demand platform. This includes accessing billing records and maintaining and supporting maintenance and upgrades of Vubiquity satellite receivers and catcher, Hits / Company Media Center satellite receivers and catcher, BBC America IP catcher, and complex Cisco/ALU Layer 3 switching / VLAN network
Maintain all PC hardware and software for remote access to equipment in multiple headends
Escalate with Vendors concerning equipment hardware / software / firmware upgrades, outages, changes etc· Perform engineering, programming, maintenance, upgrades, & backups of Cisco routers, switches, & ASA 5500 VPN appliances.
Perform engineering, programming, maintenance, upgrades & backups of multiple Cisco 7246 CMTS (cable modem termination system) DOCSIS 2.0, 3.0, and 3.1 versions.
Perform engineering, programming, maintenance, upgrades & backups & all office LAN, WAN, Printers and PBX / VOIP equipment. Provide and maintain detailed network drawings including IP subnets, ports, physical media (fiber, Ethernet, RF coax, etc to aid in upgrades, maintenance, and troubleshooting
Evaluate and order IP addresses as needed.
Design, program and implement new Public and Private Networks including high speed internet.
Write & document step by step procedures for completing various tasks such as backups, how to create crypto tunnels, how to program VPN appliances etc.
Monitor bandwidth on all routers and switch ports including upstream and downstream CMTS ports. Adjust as needed.
Troubleshoot and repair any routing or switching problems
Escalate with Vendors during leased line outages
