Job Description
Senior Systems Performance Engineer position within an enterprise SOA & Production Support team.
Great opportunity for exposure to a hybrid of exciting technologies in a fast-paced and dynamic role that encompasses both release focused, agile systems performance engineering & testing as well as SOA production operations support & performance analysis/remediation.
Requires strong IT problem solving/analytical skills coupled with a background in systems performance analysis and tuning/optimization of complex, multi-tier systems.
The ideal candidate for the Systems Performance Technical Lead would be a highly passionate, extremely technical, self-starter.
This individual would be capable of independently owning a Performance Engineering engagement from end to end, including holistic non-functional requirements gathering, performance script & scenario development, performance test execution as well as the analysis of test results and any associated optimization & tuning that may be necessary to deliver a given system to production that is free of performance defects and system capacity concerns.

Job Responsibilities
Proactive monitoring and diagnosis of production and test environment performance issues with emphasis on Root Cause Analysis.
Makes recommendations for improving performance and stability of supported systems
Follows and suggests improvements when needed for the performance engineering process.
Works well independently and with other Performance Engineers to ensure understanding of the test results and that proper, thorough analysis is conducted for all test scenarios executed.
Conducts final review of test results with project stakeholders and management as needed to ensure all are informed of any and all critical issues and status.
Follows the defined SDLC and suggests improvements for the performance engineering process in the SDLC.
Reviews architectural system design for any assigned system to help identify performance risks and potential issues or bottlenecks based on poor design.
Works with Business Analysts and business teams when needed to ensure complete understanding of performance non-functional requirements.
Escalate to management any issues and risks with recommendations for mitigation/resolution.
Prepare Performance Test Strategy for the all assigned project engagements.
Provides coaching and mentoring to program and application development groups and junior level team members relevant to systems performance tuning.

Job Requirement
Education: Bachelor''s degree in Computer Science or related discipline, MS preferred;
Minimum of 8 years of performance testing/engineering experience; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.
Excellent oral and written communication skills. Has ability to clearly articulate his or her thoughts & ideas both verbally and in written form.
Ability to communicate with various levels of leadership regarding the technical strategy, direction, risks and issues for any assigned piece of work.
Demonstrated ability to effectively triage and diagnose performance issues in a production or test system across various technology stacks/platforms.
Ability to work well under pressure in time-sensitive, production system outages/issue situations where time is of the essence
