Required Experience 6 – 10 years or equivalent

Basic Qualifications:
* Minimum of 10 years of IT Systems Engineering work experience. VMWare and Windows MCSE Certification a plus.

Department Description
* Enterprise Data Center Services (EDCS) Organization has an IT Systems Solution Engineering opening in its Engineering team.
* The Solution Engineering team is responsible for providing Design Solutions for the IT Business Organizations for Hosted Applications, Level 4 support and oversight for Infrastructure Platforms worldwide.

Scope of Responsibilities/Expectations The IT Solution Engineer will be responsible for and involved with:
* Plan, Build and run level activities for the Enterprise Data Centers.
* Developing subject matter expertise for various technologies/services within the organization as it related to new and existing Application Infrastructure designs.
* Ability to analyze existing Application Infrastructure designs and make design decisions for micro-segmenting the various components in the application infrastructure design.
* Extensive experience with gathering client requirements in order to make system design decisions.
* Must be able to influence clients to use information services standards while maintaining good relationships with the clients.
* Lead and participate in platform design, upgrade and architecture activities, anticipate potential issues, troubleshoot, research and resolve issues and problems associated with server performance, capacity issues, and other Server-related issues.
* Gather and develop an in-depth understanding of business requirements.
* Have in depth knowledge to resolve highly complex or escalated infrastructure problems. * Configuration and security for server, upgrades, third party software, performance management, capacity planning and trend analysis.
* Collaborate with various IT partners (e.g. internal IT Organizations, External suppliers, and 3rd party vendors), business customers and end users. Ability to work with manage outsourced infrastructure and managed service teams
* Participate in ITIL initiatives and processes.
* Change Management – Document change implementation plans and execute the plans reviewed and approved by senior analysts.
* Perform basic to moderately complex changes following standard change management processes.
* Perform problem diagnosis and root cause analysis.
* Specific Knowledge/Skills Extensive knowledge and technical expertise is Highly preferred for the following:
* Design, configuration & implementation expertise for large implementations of VMWare ESX environments including hands on experience with VMWare VSphere 6.0 & VCenter.
Intermediate understanding and experience in Microsoft and Linux Operating Systems
Demonstrated understanding of layer 2 & 3 networking technologies and concepts
Demonstrated experience with VMware NSX products and technologies
Intermediate understanding and functionality of NSX
NSX Security group tagging, integration and configuration
Define/verify architecture and requirements for application(s) in micro-segmented environment.
Work with engineers to review and validate understanding of customer requirements and translate initial scope into actionable items
Experience with documenting processes
Intermediate skills and knowledge with Networking, Firewalls, DNS, WINS, DHCP Active Directory & DMZ’s.
Windows Server 2008/2012 Operating System administration.
Internet Information Server 6.x-8.x (IIS), Including but not limited to Application Pools, Website Configuration, Access Controls (ACL’s), and Certificates. Must have knowledge of Load Balancing, multiple sites on single web servers.
Microsoft or Veritas clustering, load balancing & high availability solutions.
Administrative scripting, PowerShell, VBScript, Python, Chef, Puppet, PERL, HTML, WMI or similar shell script programming languages.

Technical competence and knowledge is preferred for the following disciplines:

Audit and compliance expertise working in a regulated environment
Active Directory management.
Security management, including Group or local Policy Objects and, system hardening, security and DR.
Oracle, SQL Data bases
Service Now (preferred) or similar ITIL based ticketing & escalation system

Certifications for the following areas is desirable:
Windows 2012 or 2016 MSCE/MCSA Certification
VMWare VCA or VCP Certification
ITIL Foundations 2.0 Certification

Individual should be a Self-starter, a team player, as well as having the ability to work with minimal supervision.

Ability to maintain a positive attitude while working with time constraints and the need to prioritize work required.
Ability to collaborate and interact with various internal technical teams of all skill levels, business and customer teams with limited technical knowledge and outside business partners, vendors and suppliers.
