Job Description:
The NEDSS Assessment Project will include the review and documentation of theNational Electronic Disease Surveillance System (NEDSS) Ecosystem to diagram the Rhapsody and PHINMS transmission of Electronic Laboratory Results messages received and routed throughout the system.

The Business Analyst will review, document and diagram the system routes and message paths throughout the NEDSS Ecosystem.

Key Functions:
Conduct a detailed analysis of the current Rhapsody and NEDSS architecture to document and diagram business requirements, system process and information flows, to improve performance and increase the overall stability of Rhapsody, PHINMS and the NEDSS Ecosystem
Plan and lead collaboration with IT, CDC and Business SMEs to document the Ecosystem routes and message paths
Uses problem-solving and analytical skills to identify opportunities to automate current manual correction of data

Responsibilities:
Identify and analyze routes, lookup tables, and data transformation within Rhapsody
Gather and analyze complex data and requirements
Produce high quality business process documents
Analyze and document the current case reports sending through ELR to the NEDSS Ecosystem to improve performance
Works with IT, business users and leadership to help them understand the application functionality, development approaches, possible enhancements and process improvements for the NEDSS Ecosystem
Review completed documentation and diagrams with IT, business SMEs and leadership

Minimum Requirements:
Years Skills/Experience
5 HL7 processing
5 MS SQL Server
5 MS SQL
5 MS Office Suite and Visio
5 Electronic Lab Results/Electronic Health Record Integration Architecture
5 Orion Health Rhapsody Administration and Route Development
5 Java, Java scripting
3 Public Health Information Network Messaging System (PHINMS)
3 ETL experience
2 SNOMED, LOINC, ICD-9, ICD-10

Preferences:
Years Skills/Experience
1 or more Understands Electronic Information Resources (EIR) accessibility and security requirements and their technical specifications. Ensures the EIR accessibility and security is integrated into the project lifecycle at the appropriate points (planning, design, development, test, etc and ensures that resources are included to implement EIR accessibility within the project.
