POSITION DESCRIPTION
CGI is seeking a Data Developer for a small team working in Data Analytics for a very large Financial Services firm.
FUTURE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for the day to day operations and maintenance of middleware ,database and Hadoop infrastructure
Responsible for building, configuring, patching, and upgrading Cloudera Hadoop infrastructure
Diagnoses and troubleshoots complex issues, restores service and performs root cause analysis
Application release support
Support, maintain and document software functionality
Performance tuning, improvement, balancing, usability, automation
Integrate software with existing systems
Evaluate and identify new technologies for implementation
Documents the design, operation and troubleshooting of technology platforms
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE
Knowledge of database design, administration, and architecture
Strong knowledge of SQL query writing and database performance tuning
Experience with Cloud infrastructure
Experience with Cloudera Hadoop
Experience with Unix / Linux System administration
Experience monitoring, performing diagnostics and troubleshooting of JVM’s and middleware technologies
Experience with networking concepts and technologies such as F5 and Amazon ELB
Experience in Python
Experience with Unix / Linux System administration
