Typical Day in the Role:
Manage production incident and outages
Help plan, design, test, and review big data applications targeted to move to production
Review big data applications in production for improvements
Work cross-functionally with development teams and business customers to address issues and emerging needs in Big Data applications
Diagnose production issues, engage related parties, and follow through to resolution
As a seasoned, experienced professional with a full understanding of the Big Data platform and applications, this support professional will resolve a wide range of issues in creative ways
10-25% development, rest of time will be on enhancements and process improvement

Interesting technology, great experience within Hadoop.
Candidate Requirements:
Sr. Developer with great communication skills
3 Years combined development or support experience using Cloudera Hadoop technologies
5 Years work experience in a technical environment as a developer or support resource
Demonstrated knowledge of basic Unix scripting
Critical thinking
Preferred:
3 Years Java development experience in a Hadoop environment
Strong written and verbal communication skills
2 Years SQL/NoSQL experience with knowledge of advanced SQL filtering techniques to optimize queries
Plus:
Experience in a data warehouse environment
Experience supporting an enterprise application
Experience in MapReduce performance tuning
