Role Summary
As a key member of the Global Infrastructure Team, the Global Infrastructure Engineer is fully responsible for all IT infrastructure issues in the specific region, as well as around the globe. Day to day activities include managing the newly implemented complex Network Infrastructure, Active Directory architecture, DNS, digital delivery platforms such as Aspera and Signiant, complex storage systems such as NetApp and EMC Isilon/Celerra. In addition, this role will also be responsible for working to test, install, configure and troubleshoot computer hardware and software. As well as, helping to create documentation, diagrams and other detailed instructions to ensure our practices and configurations are easily referenced by other members of the team.
Key Responsibilities
?Support business software and hardware platforms
?Configure and maintain network and storage systems
?Configure and maintain data center infrastructure
?Provide 2nd/3rd line support to Global Eagle employees
?Make crucial configuration changes on company systems, whilst following strict adherence to change management policies
?Continuously ensure documentation is kept up to date after making system changes
?Administer company storage, network and telephony systems
?Support business software and hardware platforms
?Configure and maintain network and storage systems
?Provide 1st/2nd Line Support to Global Eagle employees in Chicago locations and where necessary, globally.
?Recommend infrastructure improvements to the IT manager
?Administer company storage, network and telephony systems
?Management of Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance controls.
?Work with Global IT teams to deliver key, high profile projects.
?Work with Global IT teams to resolve issues in or outside the region
?Travel may be required, so the candidate must be able to travel at relatively short notice.
Technical Qualifications
?Degree in Computer Networking,
?Cisco Certified Network Associate
?Microsoft MCITP
?Microsoft qualifications required
?ITIL v3 Required
Skills
?Microsoft software including Windows Server 2008/2012, O365 Administration, Active Directory, Microsoft Office 2010/2013/2016 and other Microsoft platforms
?Patch deployment systems: WSUS or SCCM.
?Previous in-depth knowledge and experience of carrying out large domain migrations and consolidations, using tools such as ADMT.
?WAN/LAN Network technologies and routing protocols, TCP/IP, MPLS, BGP, EIGRP, OSPF, HSRP.
?Cisco Port Security deployment & management.
?Experience with new Cisco hardware highlight desirable, such as Nexus 3000/9000 Series
?Firewall configuration and implementation, ideally Cisco ASA and/or Dell SonicWall
?Virtualisation platforms, specifically VMware. Must have experience managing vCenter and detailed knowledge of virtual machine backup platforms, such as VEEAM.
?Experience managing VMware blade platforms, such as Nutanix and/or Pivot3.
?SAN or NAS infrastructure, ideally EMC Celerra/Isilon and/or NetApp
?Experience with Ansible or other automation frameworks version
?Previous experience deploying and managing system/network monitoring tools, such as Nagios, Cacti or SolarWinds.
?Experience with Fortinet or Checkpoint
?Experiencing managing VoIP Telephony PBX, such as ShoreTel or similar.
?LTO5 or LTO6 tape archiving.
?Proficient in the following programming languages (Java, PERL, Python, Ansible)
?Experience managing backup tools, such as CommVault or Backup Exec.
?Apple product expert
?Industrial experience with AWS services in the following Lambda, Kinesis, SQS, S3, Dynamo DB, Fargate
?Knowledge of digital media including Aspera and/or Signiant highly desirable
?Knowledge of production systems including Telestream Vantage, Digital Rapids
?Experience working under audit and to strict working practices of Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) and previous MPAA compliancy
