Our direct client is looking a GIS systems .Net developer for a long term contract in Harrisburg, PA.
Role Description:
- This resource will be managed by the Conservation and Environment Delivery Center Bureau of Information Technology GIS Director and will be assigned as the primary application developer for DCNR web/mobile interactive maps.
- Specifically this resource will be tasked with providing for the maintenance of existing DCNR web and mobile interactive maps and migrating those to newer (JavaScript) platforms.
- There are also many planned additions and enhancements to these interactive map applications and this resource will be responsible for their implementation.
- These additions relate to needed and requested integrations of data and functions from the Bureaus of Recreation and Conservation, State Parks, Forestry and Topographic and Geologic Survey.
- The resource will also be tasked with the necessary modernization of a series of interactive maps to standardize our technologies.
- With all of the above projects, the resource will be responsible for developing approved designs/approaches, coding, testing, documentation and related implementation work.
- Additionally this resource will, as time allows – be tasked with other development tasks where GIS is being implemented within the Department.
Specific Duties:
- Utilize current technology to develop critical GIS application systems and functionality
- Development of integration techniques to link together multiple systems, particularly GIS and custom .Net solutions
- Modernization of older GIS applications
- Create application documentation
- Assist in the support and maintenance of existing applications
- Continue the development of applications and tools to effectively collect and share DCNR GIS data assets
SKILLS MATRIX:
- GIS Application Development on Flex or JavaScript API’s -Visual Studio -Adobe Flash Builder -HTRML/HTML 5 – Required – 4 Years
- MVC.Net Development – Required – 3 Years
- ESRI ArcGIS Server products for map service development – Required – 1 Years
- ESRI ArcGIS desktop products for GIS data development, processing, and analysis – Required – 1 Years
- ArcGIS Online - Nice to have - 1 Years
- Agile Development Experience (SCRUM) - Nice to have – 1 Years
- 4 year college degree or equivalent technical study - Highly desired – 4 Years
