We are looking for someone with 2-3 years of hands-on GIS experience, but more functional and not programming.
Also, knowledge of Autocad is needed; but they don’t need experience, just a basic understanding.

Under direction of the GIS Supervisor, the GIS Technician will be responsible for the design, development and maintenance of GIS data and maps for the water and sewer infrastructure, as well as respond to requests for custom maps and/or reports.

Updates and maintains all mapping, database, and geographical information systems for all water and waste water systems.
Accurately maps water and waste water systems including service areas, easements, roadways, groundwater supply wells, water storage tanks, pump stations and piping, water treatment facilities, water mains, valves, hydrants, services, meters, and vaults.
Develops GIS analytical methodologies and assesses appropriateness of GIS applications for specific projects.
Produces cartographic presentations, reports, and analyses as requested.
Provides technical assistance and training support to customers using GIS including application of geospatial data, tools, and methods to address needs.
Manages multiple projects with competing deadlines.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to qualify is:
Associate’s degree or related course work in GIS, or a related field and equivalent relevant experience.
Two years of experience utilizing and implementing GIS or related geographical mapping applications.
Two years of experience analyzing data and creating reports using various databases or software applications.
Experience using Computer Aided Drafting application is preferred.
Valid California Driver License
