GIS Analysis experience, including mapping customer house meters to transformers, finding errors and fixing them
Job Description(s): Service Delivery Point Project - GIS Analyst:
2+ years of experience with ArcFM/ArcGIS as an analyst including significant exposure to comparisons between various data sources to determine “best fit” of a newly created asset “Service Delivery Point” which represents the customer meter. The successful candidate will perform GIS Analyst duties on a team responsible to troubleshoot and repair errors caused by the automated conversion of customer data into GIS information. Various techniques will be deployed including analysis of meter voltage data and satellite imagery.
Job duties to include validating GPS device verification, visual validation in PPL''s Electric Facilities Database system of transformers, service wires, and assets against an industry standard land base. Data entry to repair Customer Service database errors, as well as GIS edits to correct mapping inconsistencies that prevent the automated process from successfully completing the creation step.
Addition duties will include validating and tuning a separate process (Network Model Validator) that compares the meter to transformer relationship using location and voltage profile information. This process runs against the same dataset described above and achieves the results, however its only output is a list of suggest changes with probabilities for correctness.
Experience in automation techniques to streamline the described processes is a preferred skill.”
