DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


1. Lead Architect, design, install and test layered network to support a WAN/LAN distributed Architecture
2. Configure and manage the configurations of multi-vendor environment to include Cisco, Brocade, Juniper and Allied Telesis.
3. Configuration, installation and management of multiple network security systems to include Cisco ASA and Fortinet firewalls.
4. Network security management of PCI Level-1 architecture.
5. Configuration and management of site to site VPN tunnels using IPSEC, SSL and DMVPN technologies.
6. Configuration and management of multiple QOS queues for VOIP/Data services
7. Configuration and management of the following network protocols: OSPF, IS-IS, EIGRP and BGP-4
8. Deployment and management of IP v4/v6 addressing architecture.
9. Configuration and installation of 10GB network fabric for virtual infrastructure in data center.
10. Develop system test plans, create specific test suites and procedures, write test summary reports, document and verify the network meets specification.
11. Provide on-site and/or remote technical support for network implementation.
12. Real-time problem management including coordinating vendor issues, problem escalation to appropriate support levels, tracking, and follow-up.
13. Perform in-depth troubleshooting, analysis and isolation of network events, tracking and management of network events to resolution
14. Demonstrate technical leadership to cooperate with inter-departmental project teams.
15. Some on-call hours may be required
16. Some travel may be required
17. Develop and document IP network to include addressing, equipment, and network configuration.

SCOPE
The primary goal of the Sr. Network Engineer is to ensure the smooth operation of the organizations/customers voice and data network in order to provide maximum performance and availability for the system users. The Sr. Network Engineer is responsible for designing, installing, maintaining and supporting LAN, WAN, Data Center and VoIP infrastructures. The Sr. Network Engineer provides high-level technical support for voice and data network systems, creates and maintains network documentation, maintains hardware and software standards, and works projects as needed in order to upgrade to new and/or improved communication equipment and procedures. The Sr. Network Engineer must be well versed with the advanced engineering and administration of multiprotocol routers, multilayer switches, network security devices and network management systems. This position requires excellent problem management and customer service skills.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related Engineering discipline or equivalent and extensive IP/MPLS Network experiences.
Network engineering in a complex service provider network, enterprise, and data center networks. +10 years of hands on experience designing and building large scale, highly available IP/MPLS networks.
Install, support and maintain network hardware and software infrastructure according to best practices, including routers, switches, wifi controllers, and firewalls
In depth knowledge of network security design and integration
Configuration and management of multi-tenant firewalls to include intrusion prevention and VPN configurations
In depth understanding of IPSEC VPN, SSL VPN and DMVPN architectures
In depth understanding of fabric switching in a data center environment.
In depth understanding of layer 2 protocols to include STP, RSTP, Cisco’s PVST, Trill, and MST
Excellent customer interface, analytical and presentation skills and be able to influence internal and external organizations.
Ability to work and adapt changes in a dynamic, fast paced work environment, and must be a team player.
Able to articulate technical issues to cross-functional teams fostering awareness and understanding of proposed system design implementations and integrations.
Ability to follow multiple simultaneous projects to completion with minimal supervision.
Experience leading inter-departmental negotiations, consensus building to reach common technical solutions.
Design core networks for 99.999%, transport network for 99.99% and edge network for 99.9% availability
Experience with Monitoring software to include Solar Winds and Cacti
Hardware equipment configuration management with Cisco, Brocade, and Juniper
In depth knowledge of IP, VoIP & PSTN/TDM Network Troubleshooting
VoIP Protocols (SIP, H323, MGCP, RTP/RTCP)
QoS background (MPLS, differentiated services)
Hands on experience with OSPF, EIGRP, IS-IS, and BGP-4
CCNA, CCNP, JNCIA, JNCIS-ENT, BCNE, BCNP, and CCVP certification – desirable
Linux, Putty, iPerf, Wireshark, experience
