Description:
As an expert in SAP BW and SAP BI Portal modules and processes, the mission of this position is to analyze business issues and to identify projects and technologies which will enable significant improvements in the corporation’s reporting and decision support functions. The Analyst formulates and defines systems scope and objectives based on both business needs and a solid understanding of industry requirements and best practices. In addition, the Analyst may function as a project manager to coordinate and facilitate the work of cross-functional company resources assigned to technology projects. This position may also assist in routine maintenance for specific modules in the company’s suite of business applications. This position collaborates with business process owners to foster a positive IT customer relations environment.
Essential Job Functions:
The SAP Business Systems Analyst is responsible for the following functions:
· Define business requirements jointly working with management and professional staff in user departments. Technical solutions must satisfy the business needs for the future, i.e., take into
account company growth and customer service objectives.
· Responsible for daily, weekly and monthly SAP BW reports support, development and implementation.
· Responsible for all SAP BW data extraction processes from SAP and Non-SAP ERP systems.
· Responsible for all SAP BW data integration with other systems
Scope:
- As a staff member within the Systems Department, this position is responsible for coordinating the application of technology from a Systems and end-user (customer) perspective, providing project management, business/technological expertise, and information to IT Leadership and other business leaders within the Company. This position is expected to manage IT resources plus contract resources as required for specific projects. The position is also responsible for budget management for assigned projects.

- Working experience in SAP BW (7.4 & 7.5)
- Working experience in SAP BI Portal
- Working experience in SAP BW and SAP Portal Security
- Working experience in SAP SD, MM, and COPA modules a plus
- Working experience with SAP BPC
- Working experience with SAP Business Objects (WEBI and IDT)
- Experience or knowledge in SAP Data Services and SAP Information Steward
- Knowledge or experience in SAP HANA a plus
- Strong knowledge of all areas of BW/BI including data extraction, staging, transformation, PSA, ODS, and query development
- Strong knowledge in Data Warehouse concepts
- Experience with developing custom Data Sources and enhancing existing Data Sources
- Experience integrating BI functionality with the SAP Enterprise Portal
- Experience in the use of Analysis Authorizations
- Understanding of best practices in BW/BI Data Modeling
- ABAP experience in developing custom Transformations and User Exits
- Experience or knowledge programming in SQL and/or Oracle databases
Educational Requirements:
Background / Experience:
4-year college degree in general or IT-Related field required. Equivalent work experience considered
Specialized or technical knowledge:
8+ years IT experience including 2-4 years in SAP BI modules. Experience in both implementation and application support is desired. General experience should include systems architecture and business processes similar to those .
2+ years project management experience
