Role : Full Stack Java Developer
Location: Boston,MA

Position Description
This position is for a full stack engineer to work in the asset allocation technology division of an investment management firm. The client is staffing multiple squads to address development priorities for 2019.

Your future duties and responsibilities
This individual will be part of a 6-person agile squad and will need to be experienced in - middleware Java stack, messaging technologies and web containers
Develop, test, debug, implement, and support moderate-to-complex procedures.
Participate in software application architecture and design discussions.
Work with architects, and technology and business partners to support and enhance a complex business rules engine
Perform unit testing and work with Quality Assurance to test scenarios
Enforce development quality standards and best practices for all supported components including change management, release management, and source code control
Perform technical code reviews to ensure quality
Resolve issues and validate programming requirements within areas of responsibility
Perform regression testing and other development related tasks
Translate technical systems design to functioning code
Actively research opportunities to enhance performance and reduce risk

Required qualifications to be successful in this role
Expert knowledge in J2EE application development frameworks. Git, Stash, Nexus BDD testing frameworks like Spock / Cucumber.
Understanding of fundamental design principles for building a scalable application

DB Engineering specialists:
Experience working with highly scaled relational databases and knowledge of PLSQL required.
-Familiarity with Dimensional Data Modeling techniques
-Expertise in implementing star schemas
-Strong understanding of PLSQL, Explain Plans, and Performance Tuning
-Familiar with Informatica and batch scheduling
-Distributed Systems Specialists:
-Messaging systems (Kafka)
-Distributed systems design
General:
Passionate about engineering excellence and possesses a knack for writing clean, testable, readable, and easily maintainable code
Experience working in a fast paced Agile software development environment with continuous integration and continuous delivery tools.
