Job Description :
We are looking for a highly experienced, Software Developer for the O''Connor Development team. The hire will be working on both critical enhancements to the existing Front Office and Middle Office tools in order to assist the business in identifying new Alpha generation opportunities as well as insuring the components of the operational platform are as efficient as possible. This individual will be interacting with key business Stake holders to help define and drive change.
The candidate will be focusing on the web tooling used by the front office platform, but will also be learning the risk applications used by portfolio managers and traders.
Must-Have Skills & Qualifications:
Computer science or MIS related degree is preferred.
5+ years application development experience within a financial services organization
Practical experience with Linux, UNIX and Windows desktop environments
Relational databases, preferably Sybase, MS SQL, or Oracle
Programming languages: Java, Python, Perl, SQL, Shell Scripting
C++, TCL, or C# a plus
Practical experience with Source code control systems and release management techniques
Exceptional problem solving skills and independent thinking
