Financial Application Specialist /

REPORtING RELATIONSHIP: Business Systems Manager

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Working closely with the Trading, Operations and other business teams, under supervision of the Business Systems Manager, the Financial Application Specialist will strengthen and maintain the development release process, including managing the various testing environments, testing prior to production rollout and keeping documentation current. In addition, this role will provide functional & technical support for business applications, work with business users on mission critical projects to identify, analyze and translate needs into technical specifications.

Specific Responsibilities include: • Gain an understanding of all production workflows and processes, which includes ETL packages, workload automation jobs, and .Net development • Establish and maintain a scheduled release cycle for all development work within IT • Validate that new development adheres to established coding practices • Manage the test environments, refresh as necessary for testing, and act as the first level useracceptance tester • Independently troubleshoot data and workflow issues and understand downstream application impact • Be able to work closely with end users to proactively address data and reporting request • Under limited supervision, work with cross-functional teams translating business requirement into system interface specifications, logical and physical data modeling, create documentation for the request, and work on prototypes • Create and maintain process documents in a clear and comprehensive manner capturing data, time and process dependencies • Assist with developing new workflows or modifying existing workflows to meet business requirements • Participate in software implementations and upgrades as the lead tester, coordinating with users, software vendors, and outside consultants • Write SQL database queries to troubleshoot data issues

QUALIFICATIONS: • Bachelors degree in business, computer science and/or related field required. Equivalent work experience may be substituted. • Minimum of 3 years of experience with investment technology preferred • Understanding of Equity and Fixed Income securities • Must be a U.S citizen or authorized to work in the U.S on a permanent basis

SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES: • Advanced SQL querying skills required • Intermediate to Advanced Excel skills required (e.g. Vlookup, macros and other functions) • Experience with workload automation software, ETL tools and .Net programming preferred • Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills. • Must be systems-oriented, enjoy learning new products and tools, and be a self-motivated learner
