Job Description :
                                                                             The Field Test and Support Engineer is responsible for conducting performance tests, field demonstrations, data collections, and local and remote support of military and commercial integrated sensor products. The support includes troubleshooting, repairing and maintaining systems comprised of  RADAR, electromagnetic induction sensors, chemical and biological sensors, computers,  cable assemblies, source  electrical power distribution systems, and motion control systems that include electrical and hydraulic actuation. Additionally, this position will maintain and upgrade microprocessor-based computing and navigation equipment with software changes in accordance with instructions. The position requires regular travel to CONUS and OCONUS sites to install, maintain, repair and other field support activities.
The Field Engineer will perform performance tests, demonstrations and research in controlled sensor data collection and test environments.  The Field Engineer is a key individual in electro-mechanical prototype development, equipment upgrades, design verification, root cause/effect investigation, and new design validation. Additionally, the Field Engineer may be required to develop and deliver courses of instruction in practical and classroom environments to train customers and suppliers on operation, maintenance and support of company products. 
RESPONSIBILITIES	
Conduct system installations, maintenance, training, field tests, and customer demonstrations
Prepare  test plans and reports and review with program management
Develop and document training courses and collaborate with Technical Writers for the creation of Technical Manuals 
Maintain electrical systems and electrical/electronic components of  sensor systems 
Diagnose, repair, and replace electronic equipment 
Setup, build, or assemble prototype designs for testing in a laboratory environment 
Collaborate with cross functional teams for new product design, requirements, and testing
Works under minimal supervision and oversight

EDUCATION
Technical degree or combination of education and pertinent experience 
EXPERIENCE
Ten years’ electrical/electronic experience required
Prior Military experience is a plus
International Field Support travel experience  is a plus
ADDITIONAL SKILLS and QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge of  RADAR, detection systems and data acquisition systems is a plus
Must have strong organization and verbal and written communication skills
Ability to multitask and create, maintain and manage multiple project objectives according to deadlines
Knowledge and use of electrical test instruments (Multimeter, oscilloscopes, bench power supplies and similar)
Analytical ability sufficient to independently diagnose mechanical, electrical, electronic, and hydraulic faults
Ability to interpret engineering drawings, electrical schematics, wiring diagrams and product specifications
Proficient in maintenance of hydraulics, mechanics and electronics to assist in the development of  system/equipment documentation
Ability to travel, domestically and internationally, on assignments that regularly exceed 2 weeks
Must have ability to obtain and/or maintain a DoD Secret level clearance
