Position Description:

The Business Intelligence Specialist is responsible for designing and developing Business Intelligence (BI) front-end solutions for the implementation of warehouse management systems. The position is also responsible for requirements gathering, project management, constructing functional designs, communicating with team members and business stakeholders, and integrating new reporting into existing business intelligence applications.

Position Responsibilities may include, but not limited to:

Responsible for the design, development, and support of BI front-end solutions in Cognos and Jasper

Responsible for requirements gathering, development and project management of BI projects

Providing Cognos training to business users

Promote BI solutions/capabilities to the business user community

Interacting with other BI team members, offshore team members, and cross-IT staff on support and project activities

Interacting with business users and business leadership to provide solutions to their reporting and analytical needs

Assist with task identification and effort estimates for front-end development

Assist with risk and issue identification

Travel Monday morning through Thursday afternoon as part of the normal course of business through conclusion of design, build, test and roll out of the WMS and supporting systems at minimum

Occasional weekend travel

Occasional shift work

Perform any and all other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements:

B.S. degree in supply chain, math, statistics, accounting, data analytics, information systems or equivalent related experience in IT systems management, or equivalent work experience.

3 - 5 years’ information technology management experience

At least 1 year of BI application development experience

Excellent SQL skills

Proficient in Microsoft Office

Strong competence in gathering and documenting business requirements, defining optimal BI solutions to business problems

Strong understanding of SDLC best practices with an emphasis on DW/BI practices

Ability to learn quickly and manage multiple priorities

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as a team member

Highly motivated, well-organized, detail oriented and capable of multi-tasking

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Strong work ethic with the ability to meet tight deadlines and communicate obstacles to the project manager and team lead

Proven ability to successfully complete deliverables on time or ahead of schedule

Present a highly professional image and positive attitude

This position must pass a post-offer background and drug test

Strong problem solving and analytical skills

Must exemplify leadership qualities and be persuasive to promote BI solutions throughout the organization

This position must pass a post-offer background and drug test Preferred:

Experience with Cognos, Manhattan SCI (Supply Chain Intelligence), SDK, Cognos Metrics Studio, Cognos Event Studio, Jasper Reports

Experience creating visually appealing reports for executive leadership and/or external clients

Experience with Javascript

Experience with Microsoft Visio
