Role - Expeditor

Responsibilities & Qualification :
The Expeditor role is a critical function within Supplier Management. The expediter monitors the orders to be sure that the components are delivered on schedule. A challenging and highly visible position that is responsible for the expeditious delivery of orders to the vendor with acceptable quality requirements. This fast pace role supports these requirements by interfacing both internally and externally to ensure orders are expedited from the supplier based on level of criticality.
This will include working within the SAP system to gather information, providing system updates, utilizing Excel to create visibility & status reporting to the vendor.
Duties and Responsibilities
Maintains contact with suppliers, to ensure that materials and services which are potentially late, are expedited to arrive on time and to the quality standards to meet production schedule objectives.
Produces required correspondence to expedite critical purchased items. Revises or changes purchase orders to reflect vendor delivery dates in ERP system.
Attends daily production meeting to report the status of the supply chain. Advises appropriate individuals and departments of any delivery deviations that effect scheduled manufacturing orders.
Publish monthly metrics to Sourcing and Supply Chain on Vendor on time performance along with root cause / corrective action progress.
Coordinate directly with outside suppliers to expedite the aircraft components as required by the PO of the vendor.
Communicate overdue orders to vendor
Read delivery schedules & inventory reports to determine priority of parts
Provide shipping and delivery information to all necessary workgroups
Work with internal departments as well as suppliers to correct any discrepancies in shipping, invoicing, quality and part number & quantity mismatches
