Our client, a comprehensive doctoral research university with a medical program, veterinary program, and very high research activity is widely known for specialties in agriculture, viticulture and enology, the biological sciences and veterinary medicine seeks accomplished Epic Beacon Pediatric Protocol Consultant.

Description:
Need of an experienced Epic Beacon contractor to participate in the analysis, build, testing, and implementation of Beacon protocol build for pediatric standard of care and clinical trials protocol, including medication record configuration, workflow analysis, protocol build, training script development, testing, and overall project management.
Implement Beacon pediatric standard of care and clinical trials protocols.
Provide expertise and consultation on best practice for Beacon pediatric protocols build.
Participate on team meetings with subject matter experts from pharmacy, oncologists, nursing. Clearly document workflows, designs, and key decisions.
Facilitate execution and validation of technical plan and application build between project team members and business owners.
Develop understanding of current system build and workflows to assist with system impact assessment, design and development.
Ensure test scenarios are adequately documented and perform functional, unit, and integrated testing as needed.
Support IT Education team with development of training content and guidelines for clinical stakeholders.
Assist with documentation of support, maintenance and monitoring processes for ensuring business continuity and early identification of potential issues.
Provide documentation and training to transfer knowledge and operational support to the Epic Project Team and Production Operations/Support staff.

Requirements and Preferences:
Pharmacist or Nurse (required) with certification in multiple Epic applications including, but not limited to Willow Inpatient (required), Beacon (required), EpicCare Ambulatory (preferred
Prefer strong experience leading and managing workgroups and committees for completing and tracking assignments to a global project plan.
Require large scale Epic Systems Beacon build and support experience with one or more institutions with pediatric standard of care and clinical trials protocols based on protocols published by Children’s Oncology Group.
Prefer five plus years of recent experience project managing and implementing Epic applications and performing system build, testing and support activities.
Prefer demonstrated hands-on Epic build experience, process design and testing for applications used by pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, oncologists, and nurses in an integrated hospital and clinic environment.
Prefer experience validating and documenting system design and development with stakeholders and key committees for approval.
Prefer experience developing and coordinating a multi-phased test plan and executing test scenarios for Epic applications.
Required demonstrated excellent communication, organizational and leadership skills through past performance.
