Our client, a major airline operating an extensive international and domestic flight network and providing one of the largest cargo networks in the world.

This role is for the Release and Deployment Management Product Owner and will be responsible for defining and rolling out Release and Deployment Management “RDM” best practice and policy across the enterprise. In addition management and coordination of multiple Releases across multiple programs and to ensure that the best practices are followed during the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC

Creation of a roles and responsibility matrix for RDM
Develop, maintain and communicate templates for all aspects of the end to end release process. This includes but is not limited to the following:
o enterprise rollout plan
o enterprise rollback plan
o entrance and exist criteria checklist for moving from environment to environment
o playbook
o release checklist
Develop, define, maintain and communicate enterprise level RDM policies and procedures
Define and develop release management reports to track enterprise release metrics
Define release management KPI’s providing visibility into enterprise release health
Train and communicate RDM Policies and Procedures to IT teams across the enterprise
Conduct frequent audits of all deployments
Define role of Release Manager in Agile
Define Release Manager Role and Responsibilities
Participate in CAB meetings as a RDM representative
Continually work towards making improvements in Release process
Define Release Process in Cherwell ITSM Tool

Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, MIS or related technical field or equivalent experience/training
5-7 years’ experience in Release and Deployment Management
Experience with organizational change management
Ability to work in a collaborative environment using source control and other development toolsets
Experience in leading, creating, enhancing and/or implementing guidelines and best practices for RDM
Experience and general understanding of Dev Ops and ITSM
Full SDLC experience; Agile/SCRUM experience preferred
Ability to work with a team of highly experienced senior software developers, testers, and technical writers
Understanding of technologies including applications, database design, networking, telecommunications and connectivity
Experience in moving projects from initiation through deployment and support
Experienced in Windows 7 and UNIX environments
Excellent prioritization, time management/multi-tasking skills
Flexibility and adaptable to changing environments
Airline experience preferred
Good written and verbal communication skills

ITIL certified *and 2 Yrs.
Release Management *and 5 Yrs.

DevOps experience * and 1 Yrs.
