Job Responsibilities:
Provide subject matter expertise to high level decision makers on data enterprise architecture issues and solutions
Develop or lead the development of architecture artifacts to support technical solutions.
Support and provide guidance, analysis, and information as defined and implement processes that help align business processes, data and systems with the DoD Business Enterprise Architecture (BEA
Apply knowledge of the DoD Net-centric and data strategies, the DoD information assurance guidance, and the DoD federation strategy, and the business mission area federation strategy and roadmap.
Perform high-level enterprise data architecture analysis, evaluation, design, integration, documentation, and development.
Support technical design reviews, solution architecture validations, and technical product assessments.
Define and document standards, frameworks and reference architectures.
Work closely with other infrastructure teams to deliver new environments and resolve problems related to existing infrastructure.
Determine database structural requirements by analyzing client operations, applications, and programming; review objectives with clients; evaluate current systems.
Develop database solutions by designing proposed system; define database physical structure and functional capabilities, security, back-up, and recovery specifications.
Coordinate and develop BEA compliance activities.
Ensure DOD standards and DODAF architecture framework compliance across the Air Force acquisition enterprise.
Evaluate technologies and their relevant fit in established solution architectures and/or new architectural design patterns.
Required Experience and Knowledge:
Experience in design and implementation of Business Architecture and Enterprise Architecture within DOD environment
5+ years of experience with data, systems and solution architecture.
5+ years of experience with developing business, systems, and data architecture models using the System Architect Enterprise Architecture tool
Extensive experience with EA frameworks such as DODAF, TOGAF, and/or Zachman
Experience in Agile methodologies, tools, standards and procedures
Experience in working with large distributed teams in a highly dynamic environment
Experience with the Air Force Acquisition domain
Experience in designing conceptual, logical and physical data models using industry standard tools
Knowledge and experience with enterprise data architecture methodology and frameworks
Knowledge of dimensional modeling, data warehousing and Big Data concepts
Knowledge of current trends in data technologies: data services, data virtualization, data integration, Master Data Management, Hadoop/Big Data
6+ year of experience designing and developing data solutions for reporting, transformation or strategic initiatives
Experience developing data architectures and data models across multiple COTS systems
Qualifications:
U.S. citizenship with active Secret clearance
BA/BS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, or other technically relevant area
10 years of relevant experience overall
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with diverse group of executives, managers and subject matter experts.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, using initiative to anticipate needs in areas of responsibility
Ability to work with business and development teams to convey the value of enterprise data modeling, data quality and data governance practices
