Deliverables

Data center architect and is responsible for driving technology innovation, data center infrastructure solutions advisory and leadership. The Data center Architect will be viewed internally as a go-to technical resource for a wide range of data center technologies, from network, servers & storage to the latest converged

infrastructure and private and hybrid cloud architectures. The various architects and engineers in the team will look to him/her as a trusted advisor for these technologies and to be an expert in infrastructure transformation. The Network Infrastructure Architecture will provide leadership on the infrastructure design, architecture, implementation and operational support & maintenance. The specific areas will be focused in Data Center and Network systems. S/he will serve as a senior technical expert to architect, deploy and operate large-scale IT infrastructure. S/he will work closely with the NCS,DCI MITS and IT department and full fill the OEA requirements. Essential Functions:


Design Data Centre

Networks utilizing industry best practices and Cisco Application Centric Infrastructure and Nexus 9k platforms.

Develop and perform migration from traditional data center network designs to Cisco ACI.

Create Low Level Design, High Level Design, Implementation Plan, and Acceptance Test Plan documents in accordance with customer and Cisco Standards.

Design Experience: ACI Multi-Pod Solution Design Experience ¿ Design Experience: Network Design Experience with Nexus-9k/7k/5k/4k/3k/1k.

Hands on experience with Cisco APIC SDN controller architecture.

Strong understanding of external L2/L3 fabric connectivity and Experience in L2/L3 switching Architecture design. Must have a solid understanding in

BGP, OSPF, VDC, vPC, VXLAN, ECMP and Fabric Path.

15+ years of broadly based technical experience in system/network architecture, design and implementation in virtualized computing, storage, networking,

telecommunications, data centers and related fields.

Design network framework, strategy and architecture for industrial systems. This will involve working close to assessing and designing security architecture in topics such as ICS/SCADA, embedded systems, connected devices and IoT technologies.

Five or more years experience in IT and/or OT architecture and communications including experience in industrial control systems, SCADA, PLC and IoT.

Industry knowledge and experience in areas such as Software Defined Networking (SDN), IT infrastructure and systems security, cloud or

network systems management, and business continuity.

Provide architectural design standards for new product offerings as well as network impact assessments, network designs, vendor election and implementation, and ongoing support as market requirements are refined.

Understand potentially complex cross product implications, communicate, influence and work with a wide audience to help drive the target system architecture across the client's Cloud systems portfolio.

Build network core competencies and further develop network technical and commercial expertise.

Become a technical advisor for senior level customer meetings providing support when discussing specific high-profile implementations or new business ideas, and implementations and design changes.

Manage all core and productions network infrastructure (e.g Cisco/Juniper Switches/Routers/Firewalls), cloud solutions, Office 365, Skype for Business, Load Balancers, and Cisco DCM.

Review and audit the existing network infrastructure for performance, scalability, elasticity, security, and availability

Identify key trends and emerging technologies that can enhance or impact the solution architecture to maximize the value of client's Hybrid Cloud offering. Supporting a culture of idea generation / thought leadership is expected.

An industry recognized level of expertise relevant to hybrid cloud platforms and infrastructure running different OS and application stacks.

Strong creative ability demonstrated with an exceptional track record of innovation and hybrid cloud strategy generation.

Extensive, knowledge and practical application experience working in advanced software defined networks concepts, Cloud computing and Platform as a

Service methodology.

Managed and presented to internal and external stakeholders in various functions and levels. Ideally, in government and private sector.

Establish ongoing processes and procedures that ensure production systems availability, optimal performance, reliability, resilience, disaster recovery and a high level of customer service.

Assume leading role in architectural analysis, definition and recommendation of target architectures for Cloud technologies and solutions based on competence, vision and structures, which ensure impact on the roadmaps.

Work with Management to define, schedule and deploy in phases a new upgrade strategy that moves client's network systems to a virtualized and cloud ready infrastructure

Remote access VPN architectures and techniques

Thorough of Network Management Systems (NMS) tools and processes

Experience with vendor management, IT budgeting, and product selection processes

Knowledge/experience with Network NAC and Telephony

Strong written and oral communication skills, high level of professionalism and interpersonal skills, and excellent critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills

Experience with systems integration and service-oriented architecture models.

Degree in Computing Science or IT, or in another field coupled with relevant on-the-job experience and certification, such as CCAr, CCIE DC or R/S.

Experience with Enterprise Architecture Methods like TOGAF, FEA, Gartner with a classification scheme like Zachman

3.7.2. Enterprise Architect
3.7.2.1. Responsibilities
3.7.2.1.1. Apply concepts of enterprise architecture to align IT transitional processes with business priorities, strategic goals and standards
3.7.2.1.2. Apply concepts of service-oriented architecture to support implementation of WMATA’s IT strategic plan
3.7.2.1.3. Guide construction of the business case for IT transitional processes
3.7.2.1.4. Produce flow charts, context diagrams, problem analyses, system connect diagrams and other artifacts to capture and communicate architectural decisions and components
3.7.2.1.5. Apply industry standard architectural frameworks (such as FEAF, TOGAF, and ITS) to the WMATA enterprise to guide and update the creation of the Metro Enterprise Architecture framework
3.7.2.1.6. Guide the configuration of the WMATA enterprise architecture repository to maintain alignment with the Metro Enterprise Architecture Framework
3.7.2.1.7. Work with IT programs to maintain and support standardization of technology toolsets across the WMATA IT enterprise
3.7.2.2. Minimum Requirements
3.7.2.2.1. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
3.7.2.2.2. Enterprise Architecture Certification
3.7.2.2.3. Group facilitation experience
3.7.2.2.4. Bachelor's degree, in related field or equivalent experience
3.7.2.2.5. Experience as an enterprise architect using the Federal Enterprise Architecture Framework
3.7.2.2.6. Experience with enterprise architecture repositories
3.7.2.2.7. Experience interviewing and documenting stakeholder inputs to enterprise architecture projects
3.7.2.2.8. Experience using Microsoft Excel to perform basic financial analysis of business processes
3.7.2.2.9. Familiarity with MS Word and MS PowerPoint
3.7.2.2.10. Proven ability to implement IT governance process improvements
3.7.2.3. Preferred Requirements
3.7.2.3.1. Experience coordinating software and hardware requirements and working with development teams
3.7.2.3.2. Experience in implementation of cross-boundary service-oriented architecture projects or Business Process Management projects using web services integration
3.7.2.3.3. Experience in implementation of Microsoft BizTalk and/or SharePoint projects
3.7.2.3.4. Formal training in organization development, complex systems analysis, group facilitation, or information systems requirements analysis
