Electrical Engineer:
Holtsville,NY
Designs, develops, modifies and evaluates components and processes used in the generation, manipulation, transmission and storage of electricity. Determines design approaches and parameters. Analyzes equipment to establish operating data and conducts experiments. The Electrical Engineer will be responsible for leading and contributing to all aspects of the electrical and RF subsystems design and development within portable hand-held computers and accessories for mission critical enterprise applications.
Responsibilities
Specify / document product requirements for Mobile Computing devices, PCB Design .
Lead all aspects of radio subsystem integration (RF/Antenna experience a plus
Lead design, simulation, and test of all subsystems of the mobile device stand-alone and within the overall system.
Resolve and provide leadership to others in resolving system test issues, including EMI, ESD, radio performance, etc.
Provide support for third-party, regulatory, and carrier approval testing, resolving issues.
10% travel (both domestic and international
Qualifications
Demonstrated ability to develop products from concept through high-volume production.
Experience with processor design (Qualcomm preferably
Proficiency in leading project development with JDMs.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Ability to work independently with motivation and self-direction.
Experience in low-power, battery-powered device design (Smartphone design experience a plus
Experience in RF system integration including WWAN (CDMA / GPRS), WLAN (802.11 a/b/g), WPAN (Bluetooth
Experience in leadership role with cross-functional (ie., Software, Mechanical, RF, and Acoustic) team.
Knowledge of data capture devices such as imagers (CCD / CMOS), laser scanners, magnetic swipe readers, biometric devices, etc. a plus.
