Title: ETL/Talend Developer
Location: Hicksville, NY
Duration: 6-12 months

The candidate is a proven ETL specialist with a strong background in PL/SQL, Talend and data modeling. Must possess ability to work with tools including but not limited to: MySQL, Oracle, Unix and Netezza.
Skill Requirements
Experience in Talend Integration Studio (version 6.2.1)
Extensive experience in Talend Processing and Orchestration components such as tMap, tFilterRow, tJavaRow, etc.
Skilled in parsing Flat Files by using delimiter, regular expression or positions.
Skilled in pattern matching, lookups, searching and replacing, manipulating strings, concatenation, truncation.
Skilled in data quality, cleansing, formatting, domain validation. Range validation.
Experience in Java Object oriented programming. Working knowledge of how Java Heap Memory works.
Working knowledge of JDBC or ODBC connection string for connecting to various databases.
Strong SQL experience for pulling in data efficiently and writing to tables in a safe transaction.
Skilled in working in a Linux environment supporting and or troubleshooting 64-bit applications.
System administration skills. Experience in working in a Linux RHEL/CentOS 6/7 Enterprise environment.
Installing RPM packages, mysql, oracle, netezza clients, and perl modules.
Experience in Installing and Supporting and troubleshooting Tomcat, war applications, HTTP server.
Understanding of IBM Netezza Appliance. Distribution keys, skew, SPU, external tables, NZload.
Talend certified is nice to have.

Operational Activities of the Position
Provide access to new data sources into NOC Data Platform through the use of ETL tools and processes.
Integrate new data into NOC Data Platform from both internal and external sources.
Document steps for testing and integration on source changes/additions into the NOC Data Platform.
Define physical data models for new source integration, balancing performance and storage through query optimization.
Support and troubleshoot data and processes residing around the NOC Data Platform, including emergency break fix and testing that may occur.
Ability to understand business need and translate that into desired output.
Delivers timely, quality services that meet or exceed the expectations of management and customers.
